Profile

Reporting to the Director, IT - 515 Program, the PLM System Administrator position is to participate in the planning, implementation, and sustainment of De Havilland's PLM system. They will assist business teams in support of core organizational functions and business processes as is relates to De Havilland's PLM system. This role is the key contact for application incident management, root cause analysis, problem resolution and closure. To succeed in this role, you have experience supporting and sustaining a PLM. You should have excellent time management and communication skills, as you'll collaborate with internal teams to deliver results on deadlines. You will also need to be able to work on tight deadlines, be competent in using Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel, and have exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills. On-call after business hours support may be required. Travel may be required.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Providing primary support for De Havilland's PLM system and associated subsystems
  • Act as a subject matter expert for De Havilland's PLM systems support, administration, and improvements
  • Provide application technical support by investigating, troubleshooting, and resolving operational application functionality related issues
  • Manage application updates and ensure proper testing, documenting, and communications
  • Document application problems and resolutions for future reference
  • Document stakeholder requirements, and collaborate with all necessary stakeholders to determine scope items
  • Configure software to meet documented requirements.
  • Test software based on best practices and specifications
  • Create and maintain system documentation
  • Acts as the liaison between various employees, technology, and support teams
  • Develop and maintain an understanding of the business processes that rely on the PLM
  • Responsible for maintaining the integrity and availability of the business data while stored in De Havilland's PLM system and associated subsystems
  • Manage critical issues to resolution
  • Responsible for supporting the achievement of Service Level Expectations (SLE)
  • Follow the development, and release of processes, procedures and systems required to accomplish goals
  • Represent the team at various cross functional meetings and/or projects; promote existing and new programs and/or policies
  • Participate on teams or projects which recommend, coordinate, and implement changes and/or improvements to products or systems
  • Communicate with customers concerning issue escalation and established procedures.
  • Develop and maintain an effective work intake and management process
  • Ensure system compliance with IT policies, procedures, and protocols for system standards, customizations, and changes
  • Assisting in the development and support of business systems workflows, forms, dashboards, document customizations and third-party applications integrations.
  • Work as a team member with other technical staff to ensure connectivity and compatibility between systems
  • Perform other operational duties as required

Education and Professional Qualifications

Required education and experience:
  • Bachelor's degree or technical diploma from an accredited institution in Computer Science, Information Technology (IT) or related field
  • 5+ years of IT experience working as a PLM system administrator
  • Experience with Siemens Teamcenter is an asset
Required skills and abilities:
  • Strong problem solving, critical thinking and decision-making abilities.

  • Proven experience taking ownership of a solution from design to deployment
  • Previous experience defining database requirements and activities for application development
  • Ability to perform objective analysis and re-engineering of business processes to maximize quality service and cost-effectiveness.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the existing automated business applications, their relationships to each other and interfaces to outside systems.
  • Excellent organization, planning and prioritizing skills.
  • Proactive approach to problems and issues.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Demonstrated team player with ability to learn quickly
  • Demonstrated high level of self-motivation with a strong desire to solve problems
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Aptitude to understand and resolve complex issues, and excellent customer-service skills
  • Possess adaptability and change friendly attitude
