Job Description


Job Title : Systems Administrator – Linux , Intermediate This position is responsible for the administration of assigned corporate servers and completing all assignments from the ServiceNow ticketing system as assigned within the required SLA’s. Your primary responsibility will be to provide system administration, and systems engineering for Linux-based systems with Red Hat Linux platforms.
Performance Expectations

  • Provide system administration, and systems engineering for Linux-based systems and Windows based Systems.
  • Perform lock down and secure Linux servers in a mixed environment based upon classified security requirements.
  • Manage 100+ servers in a Windows Active Directory environment
  • Work to ensure that each server has 100% uptime and meets Linamar’s security policies
  • Ability to restore files, folders, and systems as necessary
  • Ensure compatibility and interoperability of in-house computing systems.
  • Ability to configure, install, and maintain Linux computer systems in a stand-alone and networked environment
  • Respond to Service Now Tickets as assigned within required SLA’s
  • Ensure and maintain all relevant System Documentation and Linamar Active Directory
  • Coordinate to schedule and install software releases as needed
  • Look for ways to reduce costs and enhance productivity throughout Linamar, proposing and suggestions to management
Credentials
    • Must have 5-10 years’ experience with Linux\Unix Environments.
    • Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA)
    • Degree or diploma in Computer Science from a recognized university or college is preferred
    • Proven ability to read and interpret technical and non-technical documents.
    • Experience with the following is an asset:
      • Windows 2008/2016/2019 Server
      • Powershell
      • Azure
      • Active Directory
      • Virtual Server Technologies with Hyper-V and VMware
      • TCP/IP
      • Microsoft DNS

    • Excellent communication skills to communicate to both technical and non-technical audiences
    • Ability to read and interpret technical and non-technical documents
    • Critical thinking to analyze, identify the root cause, and troubleshooting skills
    • Ability to problem solve in high pressure down time situations
    • Ability to keep updated on new technology
    • On call availability as required
