Your opportunity

We are looking for a National Brand Manager to join the Marketing team. While being able to work out of any location across Canada, you will own the following responsibilities:

  • Report to the Director of Brand Strategy
  • Develop and execute a marketing strategy to build a compelling, consistent brand for BDO's talent and businesses audiences
  • Manage and execute integrated marketing initiatives to talent and business audiences across relevant marketing channels, including social media, website, content marketing, sponsorships, advertising, PR, and internal marketing activities to achieve goals
  • Develop and refine personas and talent and client journeys to inform marketing initiatives
  • Manage our online talent and business reputation on related sites and social media channels
  • Provide input, direction, analysis and recommendations for branding to the Director of Brand Strategy and the related leadership teams to inform national marketing strategies, plans and initiatives
  • Develop a culture of testing to assess marketing effectiveness, and use data and analytics to analyze marketing results, provide feedback on effectiveness and make recommendations for future initiatives
  • Report on marketing initiatives and strategies to the Director of Brand Strategy and related leadership teams
  • Communicate national marketing strategies to the related leadership teams to build alignment and coordination of brand initiatives to the overall marketing strategy
  • Consult with relevant subject matter experts and stakeholders on marketing messages, materials or tactics to achieve business objectives
  • Work with the content and design teams to create compelling content that meets business needs, is on-brand, consistent in style, quality and tone of voice, and optimized for user experience
  • Create, monitor and manage workflows related to branding activities to ensure effective and efficiency utilization of resources
  • Stay up-to-date on current and emerging marketing trends, assess their applicability to the firm's marketing needs, and make recommendations
  • Advise internal stakeholders on marketing recommendations and issues, and build consensus through collaboration and negotiation
  • Interpret market data to develop content themes/topics, points of view, and positioning to engage the audience through the talent and client journeys
  • Regularly scan the marketplace (competitors and non-competitors) to stay up to date on current trends
  • Source and manage external service providers as needed
  • Enforce BDO's brand standards

Your experience and education
  • You have a University degree in related business, marketing or communications field combined with 3-5 years of experience at the manager level
  • You have demonstrated experience and expertise in marketing, including developing and executing a brand strategy and marketing campaigns
  • You have a strong business acumen with an ability to understand and communicate BDO's value proposition and assess marketing requests against business objectives and defined goals
  • You have strong knowledge of digital marketing and social media strategies, best practices, and analytics
  • You have the ability to thoughtfully and positively influence, lead, marshal resources and manage change in a matrix environment
  • You have strong interpersonal and client service skills, and the ability to lead a consultative approach to working with internal stakeholders
  • You have excellent verbal and written communication, as well as the ability to present and facilitate
  • You have exceptional project management skills and organizational skills
  • You are a driven self-starter with a proactive approach
  • You have outstanding team-building and interpersonal skills, with the ability to adapt to various working styles and functional teams
  • If you are biligual (English and French), it is considered a strong asset
