Medical Office Assistant/Dental Administrator

In this multifaceted role, you will coordinate treatment plans and guide patients through both their clinical and financial journeys, directly contributing to an exceptional patient experience.
Duties and Responsibilities
Check patients in and create, update, and maintain accurate medical records
Optimize patient satisfaction, provider time, and treatment room utilization by scheduling appointments in person or by phone
Perform accurate data entry, appointment scheduling, follow-ups, and the creation of health documents
Explain technical and medical information to patients and provide pre/post op instructions prescribed by the oral surgeon
Keep patient appointments on schedule by notifying nurses and oral surgeon of arrival, reviewing the schedule, and updating individuals of service delays
Collaborate with oral surgeon to develop treatment plans. Record treatment plan and coordinate with dental assistants to ensure lab parts and materials are present for scheduled appointments
Answer patient questions and inquiries while monitoring the reception area
Protect patient rights by maintaining the confidentiality of personal and financial information
Process dental billing information, receive payment, manage accounts receivable, prepare and send financial information, keep financial records, and complete insurance forms
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite of Products
Proficiency in typography and computers
Ability and willingness to engage in continued education and/or training provided by employer
Qualifications and Experience
Diploma in Medical Office Administration, or related field
Minimum of 2 years' experience as a medical or dental receptionist or in a similar role
Knowledge of the ClearDent software is considered an asset
Dental assisting experience is an asset
Familiarity with dental terminology and procedures is an asset
Experience working at surgical dental practice is considered an asset
