Position: Medical Office Administrator



The Medical Office Administrator is a valued member of the clinical care team. We are looking for a detail-oriented individual who would use their excellent communication skills to interface directly with patients and the medical staff. We are also looking for someone who would be comfortable using an electronic medical record (EMR), the phone and other channels of communication to keep the high-volume practice running on time. The Administrator will have expert problem solving and interpersonal skills. The successful candidate will support the physician and the team to manage workflow and support patients. This position requires a high level of professionalism, as the successful candidate will be interacting with patients on a daily basis. The ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information is essential.

General Duties:



- Greet and check-in patients upon arrival

- Schedule and confirm appointments using the practice EMR and the phone system

- Handle incoming and outgoing correspondence, including phone calls, emails and e-faxes

- Collect and update patient information in electronic medical records

- Process and file medical records, lab results, and other documents

- General office management and procurement, including monitoring inventory and ordering medical and supplies

- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the office area

- Assist with patient intake by supporting the medical care team in their duties and/or preparing examination rooms for patient visits

Experience:


- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
- Proficient in using phone systems for scheduling and managing appointments

- Previous experience working in a medical office or healthcare setting is preferred
- Familiarity/comfort with electronic medical records systems is preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures is an asset
