We are a busy, fast-paced Specialist office in St. John's and we are looking to hire a Medical Office Administrator to join our team! We see patients from all over Newfoundland and Labrador, and we are looking for a friendly, upbeat, punctual, reliable, hardworking and trustworthy individual to work with our team.

The Medical Office Administrator plays a crucial role in managing administrative tasks and ensuring a positive experience for our patients and visitors. The ideal candidate for this position must be comfortable with quick decision making, working independently and as a team, be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and have an eagerness to learn and acquire new skills and be comfortable in a face paced, changing environment.

What you'll be responsible for -

Greeting all patients and visitors to the building in a friendly and professional manner Answer all incoming calls, and assisting patients with their questions and concerns regarding appointments and reason for their call Placing patients in examination rooms Documenting voicemails daily and returning voicemails throughout the day Schedule patient appointments and follow-ups as requested by the Doctor/Nurses Make changes to the schedule as and when needed Collect patient information, including updating contact information, insurance information, and updating patient demographics Completing administrative tasks such as printing, scanning, filing, copying and faxing of documents Collecting weight, height and vitals Processing incoming and outgoing paper mail and parcels Collecting payments, as needed Performing other administrative duties as seemed necessary by the management team
What you'll bring -

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, ability to communicate in a clear and calm manner when dealing with patient concerns/questions High degree of professionalism High level of discretion and ability to maintain confidentiality Excellent customer service skills Open to the possibility of being challenged and learning new skills and growing with our business Exceptional organizational and time management skills with a demonstrated ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment Experience in TELUS Med Access would be considered an asset
Required Experience/Education -

A diploma in a post-secondary school in Medical Office Administration, Medical Office Management, Office Administration (or similar program) A minimum of 1 year experience working in a medical clinic setting/related field Proficient in the English language Strong computer skills with proficiency with Microsoft Office
Work hours are 40 hours per week - Monday-Friday, 8am to 5pm. Rate of pay will be $20.00 hourly. We are looking for a long-term commitment and someone who is ready to learn and grow their career with our business.

This position is not a work from home position.
