Nokia is focused on delivering networking and communication solutions to Communication Service Providers and Enterprise verticals that need a mission and business critical networking foundation to deliver services to their customers and employees with the highest quality and reliability.

The IP/Optical Community and Events Manager oversees the social, in-person and online events strategy and execution, engaging with the local tech community to deliver value, and build brand awareness and market awareness globally. The goal of these events is to establish and maintain a brand presence in our community and build the sales pipeline. This individual will execute industry events, community-based events and business development events in partnership with our marketing and sales teams as well as be responsible for monitoring relevant conversations for Network Infrastructure IP/Optical campaigns across various social media platforms.

You will work across internal teams including product marketing, digital marketing, brand, and communications and will constantly iterate and maintain Nokia's personality and social tone of voice to stay relevant to our community, ensuring consistent brand positioning and tone of voice across all platforms. You will own social content decisions for the social media properties, driving both long-term strategy, pre-planned campaigns and day-to-day editorial decisions, cultivating new communities and managing branded online communities on the company's behalf using Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn and other social media as well as seek out emerging platforms that can help us grow our customer base and brand.

The role requires a highly organized and collaborative self-starter with meticulous attention to detail, methodical in approach to projects and problems, resourceful, and works well in a fast-paced creative and marketing environment who has a healthy appetite for feedback and thrives in high-pressure situations. The Community & Events Manager reports to the Head of Marketing Programs and understands how to advocate for Nokia values and create strategic activities to reflect them.

Community AND EVENTS Manager Responsibilities:

Taking direction from the lead marketing program manager, responsibilities include:

  • Lead end-to-end event planning and coordination for conference sponsorships, meetups, webinars, and other community outreach efforts.
  • Define event objectives, manage individual event budget and deliver post-event reporting and ROI.
  • Provide consistent and clear communication of events program to all stakeholders, including ownership of internal briefing documents.
  • Assist with content strategies, development, and execution to drive brand awareness and audience engagement.
  • Find new and exciting ways to engage customers via social media and event channels to drive awareness, conversation and affinity for the Nokia IP and Optical product portfolio and its content.
  • Coordinating the marketing calendar with online activity, partnering with other groups to ensure proper online messaging and relevancy, ensuring consistency of messages across multiple networks.
  • Lead the execution of creatives and provide engaging text, image and video content for all social media accounts aligned with messaging.
  • Execute on digital marketing strategies and goals, including paid search, display advertising, influencer marketing, and email campaigns.
  • Analyze and report social channel behavior and activation performance to quantify the effectiveness of campaigns and drive scalable learnings.
  • Contribute to the program execution through regularly held team meetings to align overall programs deliverables and progress across the extended team, including Communications, Web, Corporate, Regional organizations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 5+ years of experience in digital marketing and event organization, specifically planning B2B events
  • Ability to translate customer needs and technological capabilities into strong social media content and social media management skills.
  • The candidate must be social media savvy and possess a solid understanding of the social media universe, including Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, reddit, forums, wikis and blogs.
  • Knowledge of and ability to deploy a broad range of tooling, including HubSpot, Marketo, HootSuite, Google Ads, and Google Analytics, to meet marketing objectives
  • Cross-functional collaboration skills--you'll need to influence and collaborate from afar with a range of stakeholders
  • Ambitious self-starter with ability to operate independently and thrive in fast-paced environment. Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet ongoing responsibilities
  • Good knowledge of Search engine optimization/search engine marketing (SEO/SEM) best practices.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to speak to technical audiences, drive consensus, and articulate recommendations and trade-offs to senior executives
  • Well organized, able to multitask and work with multiple teams and subjects simultaneously.
  • Some travel may be required
EDUCATION:

Bachelor's degree in marketing, advertising, communications, or business administration. Prior experience in event management, online branding, interactive marketing, marketing communications, public relations, advertising or a related field is preferred.
