Tasks

Oversee production Set machine or equipment controls Develop computer applications for machines and processes Develop manufacturing and processing procedures Assist in preparing estimates, schedules, specifications and reports Utilize quantity take-off procedures Set up cost monitoring and reporting systems Provide economic feasibility studies and preliminary estimates for proposed projects Prepare estimates for general expenses and overheads Prepare elemental format estimates (Classes B, C, D) Operate CADD and other computer software systems Monitor and adjust contract expenditures Create and submit estimate reports, quote sheets and bids forms Prepare estimates of labour and/or material costs Liaise, consult and communicate with engineers, architects, owners, contractors and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements
