Reporting to the Director, Information Technology, the Manager, IT Services is responsible for managing the development, maintenance, implementation and evolution of Assiniboine Credit Union\xe2\x80\x99s (ACU) information technology infrastructure, data communications and telecommunications systems as well as all desktop and helpdesk support related functions to achieve ACU\xe2\x80\x99s growth, financial sustainability and social impact objectives. The Manager will be directly accountable for the tactical execution of the information technology operations in support of overall strategy. This role is a key resource is leading the integration of ACU\xe2\x80\x99s commitment to values based banking and triple bottom line accountability in information technology.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Leadership

  • Leads, develops and mentors a high performing team of server specialists, network administrators and helpdesk specialists to deliver and exceed expectations while coaching staff to realize their professional development.
  • Develops and oversees the implementation and delivery of SLA\xe2\x80\x99s and procedures for efficient and cost effective operation of services.
  • Collaborates with peers to understand the impact to infrastructure from a project perspective or an infrastructure upgrade perspective.
  • Responsible for the monitoring and delivery of the performance of the IT infrastructure and associated systems to ensure they perform to meet business needs and provide a secure platform for the organization\xe2\x80\x99s operations.
  • Participates in the development of IT strategy and creation of the operational plan.
  • Communicate activities with applicable key stakeholders including all levels of management and end users.
  • Manages the development and maintenance of IT Disaster Recovery Plans and applicable documents and procedures for recovery.
  • Manages help desk and technical support services activities including monitoring the effectiveness of ticketing of service requests and internal member satisfaction.
  • Leads by example to providing value added support in all interactions to ensure internal members/end users have the equipment and resources required to perform their roles as efficiently and effectively as possible.
  • Lead data driven decision making that will lead to enhancing user experience and efficiencies and overall organization impact.
  • Ensures compliance with all vendor software licensing requirements.
  • Prepares time and cost estimates for the installation and maintenance of new and existing services.
  • Researches technologies with a focus on improving service levels and/or reducing overall cost of ownership (TCO).
  • Develop and enhance working relationships with team members and all levels of stakeholders to:
  • Exchange highly complex, confidential and/or sensitive information and resolve broad professional area and/or department-wide issues which potentially have organization wide impact.
  • Impart expert skills and knowledge.
  • Responsible for compliance and risk management, through the execution of internal policies and procedures, maintain ongoing compliance with regulatory and legislation requirements always.
  • Responsible for ensuring departmental compliance with sound business practices and methodologies, applicable legislation, regulation and ACU policy and procedures.
  • Responsible and accountable for creating and ensuring internal controls are adhered to, reporting is timely and accurate and internal audit processes are followed.
  • Responsible for the annual Infrastructure department budget and projects.

Infrastructure
  • Manages break/fix support of all infrastructure and upgrades within best practices and budget.
  • Manage the hardware and applications infrastructure including: development, monitoring, maintenance, deployment, upgrades and support of IT systems.
  • Manage the organization\xe2\x80\x99s IT security activities including network/infrastructure design, policies, procedures, reports and applicable training requirements to support a secure IT network environment and protect the integrity of all systems and data.
  • Accountable for implementation and maintenance of all information technology security including server and storage technologies and ability to integrate components into an efficient computing infrastructure.
  • Develop, maintain and manage ACU\xe2\x80\x99s business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
  • Lead asset management for IT hardware, software and equipment.
  • Leads IT procurement to ensure ACU is receiving the best value.
  • Proactively conduct research and remain current with the latest technologies and solutions in support of procurement efforts.
  • Develop maintenance schedules, system feasibility studies and testing for applications, network and systems equipment.
  • Conduct and direct research into IT issues, products and service offerings as required.
  • Leads the system integration and design through the understanding of application, network and system capabilities and produce infrastructure designs that meet business requirements.
  • Identifies underlying practices that affect computing system performance and identify potential systems improvements.
  • Leads infrastructure and architecture activities to provide and maintain appropriate server and storage technologies and integrates components into an efficient computing infrastructure.
  • Understands application, network and system capabilities in order to lead the production of infrastructure designs that meet business requirements.
  • Ensures that all infrastructure changes are identified, assessed and then deployed.
Vendor Relations
  • Vendor Management of infrastructure support that is run internally and by third parties.
  • Oversees the development, maintenance, administration and quality of applicable vendor relationships.
  • Holds vendors accountable to delivering within stated SLAs or contracts.
  • Support vendor negotiation process considering the cross functional aspects of ACUs business, including but not limited to project management and ongoing support.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

The competencies for the position would typically be acquired through a minimum of 5-7 years of job related experience and a degree or diploma in Information Technology.

  • A good understanding of Microsoft 365 including Purview would be a considered an asset.
