We are looking for a Senior Business Relationship Manager to join us in the exciting work we do in the Information Technology Services. It will be your responsibility to connect business, people and process to create new business value and enhance the customer experience by understanding the dynamics of internal and external environments in which the business operates and how the business serves its end customers. The role will ensure that information and operating technology is embedded within the respective business strategies and is supported by an IT roadmap including an agile execution plan.

The Senior Business Relationship Manager will report to the Director, Business Relationship Management. What You Get To Do:

  • Represent IT in respective leadership and executive teams, budget and finance meetings, and technology Steering Committees;
  • Capture and report IT value attributed to information and operating technology;
  • Develop and maintain a trusted advisor function within the business representing IT;
  • Direct leadership in ensuring business strategies reflect IT capabilities;
  • Ensure respective business strategies, commercial direction and needs are visible and well understood across IT;
  • Direct participation and collaboration in IT strategic and operational planning to achieve business goals by promoting innovation, prioritizing IT initiatives, and coordinating the evaluation and management of current and future IT systems across the organization;
  • Assess and communicate risks associated with IT investments;
  • Support the development, tracking, and control of the information technology annual operating and capital budgets;
  • Ensure the development of business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for IT spending and initiatives;
  • Lead business engagement to stimulate, surface and shape business demand;
  • Support the approval, prioritization, and control of IT projects and the project portfolio as they relate to the initiation and governance of business technology projects;
  • Assist in defining and communicating corporate plans, policies, and standards for the organization for acquiring, implementing, and operating IT systems;
  • Oversee specific information technology development and deployment; maintain ongoing knowledge of systems, technology and external suppliers in supporting the achievement of company business goals and objectives;
  • Ensure continuous delivery of IT services through oversight of service level agreements with service providers;
  • Assist in the development and management of the company-wide capital expenditure budget, departmental operational budget and strategic plans on an annual basis in conjunction with ongoing business requirements;
  • Keep current with trends and issues in the IT industry, including developing relationships with vendors and providers of current technologies and industry solutions in order to advise, counsel, and educate executives and management on their competitive or financial impact.
Who You Are:
  • Undergraduate degree in B. Commerce or MBA an asset.
  • PMP, ITIL and/or BRMP designation an asset.
  • 10 years of progressive IT experience in a large, complex, multi-unit public company with a track record of success up to a senior level;
  • Excellence in business relationship management, proven ability to support the achievement of company business goals and objectives from an IT perspective;
  • Thrive in a matrix environment where complexity creates an ever-changing environment;
  • Sound knowledge and proven track record in cloud computing, telecommunications technologies, information systems and services, including a strong knowledge of technical architectures;
  • Strategic problem solver with proven ability to develop IT strategic plans and goals and implement successfully;
  • Exceptional business insight;
  • Strong transformational and change management experience;
  • Active listener who is responsive, open and communicative;
  • Strong teammate with proven ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams;
  • A self-starter with a results-oriented work style;

  • Experience in regulated industries is highly valuable to this role.
