JOB OVERVIEW: MANAGER, HUMAN RESOURCES INFORMATION SYSTEMS (HRIS) The Manager, Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) is responsible for leaderships, oversight and support for all Human Resources Information System (HRIS) matters. This position assumes a lead role in the design, development, implementation and maintenance of the HRIS strategy to support the achievement of KPU?s mission, goals and objectives. The Manager is responsible for workforce metrics, HRIS business processes, system implementation and management and change management related to HRIS changes and adoption. This position is responsible for setting the strategic priorities for HRIS ensuring alignment with HR?s strategic direction.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • A Bachelor degree in a related discipline such as Human Resources Management or Business Administration supplemented by Information Systems training.
  • Five years? experience in a similar systems administration role involving systems optimization, integration, data integrity, and technology maintenance.
  • Three years leadership experience.
  • Payroll experience within a unionized setting is preferred.
  • Experience with Banner, PeopleSoft, Oracle or SAP preferred.
  • Project management and system implementation experience as asset.
  • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Superior computer skills with MS Office Suite, database systems and web development and management.
  • Demonstrated strength in project management.
  • Demonstrated innovation and change management skills which include supporting and encouraging new ideas and approaches to build organizational efficiency.
  • Ability to deal effectively with all levels of staff.
  • Advanced working knowledge of database management and Excel applications.
  • A good understanding of general human resource policies and procedures, knowledge of employment labour and privacy laws.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong aptitude for problem-solving and sound judgement.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of business process management and human resource planning and principles.
  • Excellent communication skills including the ability to facilitate, negotiate and persuade others.
  • Excellent organizational skills including the ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlines and manage multiple concurrent tasks.
  • Ability to stay current on HR technology trends and best practices related to HRIS systems.
  • Highly customer service oriented, with the ability to create a positive and meaningful customer experience.
  • Possession of a valid driver?s license and access to a vehicle is preferred.
