As the Manager, Finance in PC Services, you will play a central role in managing ongoing accounting operations in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. We are looking for candidates with experience leading people, reviewing month-end close journal entries, implementing process/system improvements over the PC services segment which includes Telecom (The Mobile Shop), third-party and proprietary Gift Cards, as well as PC insurance.
Reporting to the Director, Finance, the Manager will work in partnership with the business partners to support the accounting function and lead special projects. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who is a highly analytical problem solver that is curious and can form solid relationships across the organization.
What you'll do:

  • Provide guidance to team of Financial Analysts and approve prepared journal entries, billings and reconciliations
  • Liaise with business partners and other lines of business to obtain relevant data, solve problems and create efficient processes
  • Track and monitor results
  • Provide guidance to business units, external vendors, and other users of financial information
  • Prepare monthly and periodic financial reporting packages
  • Provide analytical commentary on results
  • Ad hoc financial reporting and presentations as requested by management
  • Evaluate performance and determine result drivers
  • Analyze financial accounts make recommendations on how to maximize efficiency
  • Research and recommend accounting treatment for all new projects
  • Make sound financial recommendations factoring both quantitative and qualitative factors

What you'll need:
  • Post-secondary education in Business, Accounting or Finance
  • Completion of CA/CMA/CGA/CPA designation, or in advanced stages of program
  • A minimum of 3 years management experience in accounting/financial analysis/reporting
  • Strong technical skills (IFRS, SAP, Great Plains, etc.)
  • Strong Excel skills (macros/vba/pivot tables/vlookups)
  • An aptitude for figures and attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Effective verbal and written skills
  • Excellent planning, organizational and analytical skills
  • Demonstrated ability to interact with people at various levels of an organization
  • Proactive individual, able to effectively manage various projects simultaneously
  • Previous audit experience is preferred
  • Experience in retail and/or telecommunications is considered an asset
