Key Accountabilities:
  • Establishes framework for robust project management including development of best practices, techniques, and tools for program and project planning, execution, ongoing milestone/deliverable tracking, communication, and measurement of key performance metrics.
  • Ensures the implementation of project management plans, processes, tools and methods to support project management deliverables are completed on time and within budget.
  • Prepares, analyzes, and reports statistics to the Executive Leadership Team for planned versus actual project schedules, budgets and milestone progress.
  • Periodically conducts program/project audits to ensure adherence to the guidelines.
  • Monitors compliance with policies and standards, and makes recommendations for enhancements or improvements.
  • Monitors and measures any variance in program/project scope, schedule, cost and quality from the respective baselines.
  • Develops and utilizes resource usage tracking for projects to ensure the optimized use of resources.
  • Conducts project post mortems to assess project results and provides recommendation reports in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
  • Facilitates improvements to the project controls and management processes.
  • Provides leadership to the EPM team by developing and coaching, setting departmental goals, evaluating performance, and providing regular feedback.
  • Builds and maintains relationships with project management vendors and industry groups.
Experience and/or Educational Requirements:
  • 8 years of relevant project or program management, planning, and execution work experience preferably within the financial services sector.
  • 5 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in a management role would be considered an asset.
  • Demonstrated ability to align programs and projects to meet business needs.
  • Experience in developing and deploying project management best practices, policies, procedures and processes with a track record of successful project delivery.
  • Experience working with executives to facilitate decisions to proceed with projects and initiatives based on benefits.
  • In depth knowledge of project management software and/ or other Project Management software an asset.
  • PMP Certified with a strong understanding of the PMBOK Guidelines and Standards.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered.

  • Demonstrated leadership skills; able to mentor, coach and effectively transfer expertise to others.
  • Superior analytical problem solving ability for dealing with escalated issues from projects under management.
  • Proficiency in effectively prioritizing in a high-pressure environment is crucial.
  • Excellent strategic planning, and execution skills.
  • Adept at conducting research into project-related issues.
  • Capacity to learn, understand, and apply new technologies, and to effectively communicate.
  • Consistently demonstrate flexibility, resilience and resourcefulness.
  • Ability to impact and influence project outcomes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain and \xe2\x80\x9csell\xe2\x80\x9d project management across the organization.
  • Negotiation and conflict management skills.
