Manager, Compensation (Broad-Based) (Remote, U.S.A./CANADA) - (Hybrid if located in Loveland, Colorado, U.S.A or Calgary, Alberta, Canada or Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada)

The Manager, Compensation is an integral part of Nutrien\'s Total Rewards Center of Excellence reporting to the Sr. Manager, Compensation. The Manager, Compensation will be a trusted compensation partner consulting with the HRBP on Nutrien\'s broad-based compensation programs, policies, procedures, and systems, ensuring alignment with business goals and strategies. The role is responsible for influencing plan design and implementation of Nutrien\'s broad-based compensation programs that are internally equitable, externally competitive, and legally compliant.

What you will do:

  • Promote and advance the direction of Nutrien\'s Broad-Based Compensation strategy and framework within Nutrien by strongly partnering with HRBPs, business leaders, finance, payroll, and other stakeholders
  • Trusted compensation advisor to HRBPs and business leaders through effective consultation and interpretation on all areas of compensation that drive the strategy
  • Strategize with HRBPs and business leaders on complex compensation needs and solution through optimal compensation strategies
  • Participate and influence compensation design and planning of compensation programs, policies, and procedures to meet the business needs
  • Manage annual compensation process, including, merit budget, base pay, and variable compensation through effective collaboration with the compensation operations team and delivery with respective HRBPs
  • Influence the annual compensation survey participation, benchmarking process, and market data analysis by representing the HRBPs and business needs
  • Support Pay Equity efforts through communication and collaboration with HRBPs
  • Act as a change agent for the organization by leading efforts to transfer knowledge on compensation programs and processes across the business through transparent discussion, effective listening and building positive relationships
  • Responsible for compliance of the broad-based program and monitoring regulatory changes
  • Participate in enterprise compensation initiatives as needed
  • Provide insights in the preparation of materials for Executive Leadership team and the Human Resources & Compensation Committee of the Board as needed
  • Lead a team of compensation professionals, providing mentoring, coaching, and development

What you will bring:
  • Bachelor\'s degree in related field or equivalent work experience
  • 8+ years progressive compensation experience including experience in consulting on broad-based compensation, incentives, policies, procedures, compliance, etc.
  • Compensation Certification from World at Work, SHRM or other similar certifying body preferred
  • Excellent understanding in all areas of compensation, including broad-base compensation, annual compensation cycles, job architecture consulting, design, and delivery
  • Experience with HRIS systems, benchmarking and compensation systems
  • SAP and SuccessFactors compensation modules experience preferred
  • Knowledge of relevant US, Canada Federal, State/Provincial, Local laws/regulations related to compensation preferred
  • Excellent analytical and mathematics skills
  • Excellent excel skills and proficient in MS Office Suite
  • Ability to be consultative and pragmatic in compensation programs and recommendations while leading through influence
Compensation & Benefits:

Salary Range $97,760 to $146,640. This range is estimated for Manager, Compensation in Colorado, California, and Washington USA. Actual salary and benefits may differ based upon location and experience.

In addition to base pay, this role is also eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan, consistent with the terms of our plan, which provide discretionary award opportunities reflecting components such as performance of the company and the employee.
