Who You Are

You are a highly skilled Senior Software Engineering Manager with a strong background in search engines and natural language processing. The ideal candidate will have a passion for solving complex problems, an in-depth understanding of search algorithms, and expertise in leveraging NLP & LLM techniques to enhance search capabilities. In this role, you will be responsible for leading a team of software engineers, driving technical initiatives, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality search engine solutions.

Your Next Challenge

• Lead a team of software engineers specializing in search engines and NLP, providing guidance, mentorship, and fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
• Drive the development of advanced search algorithms and techniques, leveraging NLP to enhance search relevance, query understanding, and information retrieval.
• Collaborate with product managers, data scientists, and UX designers to define requirements, prioritize tasks, and deliver search engine features that meet user needs and business objectives.
• Architect scalable and reliable search systems, ensuring high availability, fault tolerance, and efficient query processing.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in LLMs, search engine technologies, NLP techniques, and industry best practices, and apply them to drive continuous improvement in our search capabilities.
• Conduct code reviews, provide technical guidance, and promote engineering best practices to maintain code quality, scalability, and performance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data engineering, infrastructure, and quality assurance, to ensure seamless integration and deployment of search engine solutions.
• Manage project timelines, resource allocation, and prioritize tasks to meet delivery deadlines.
• Identify and address technical challenges and risks proactively, proposing creative solutions and mitigations as needed.
• Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and learning within the engineering team, promoting knowledge sharing and professional development.

What You\'ll Need

• Bachelor\'s or Master\'s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in software engineering, with 5 years in leadership roles.
• Strong knowledge of search engine architectures, algorithms, and information retrieval techniques. Experience in image processing and image search is nice to have.
• Proficiency in OO programming languages such as C#, Java, Python, or C++.
• Experience with NLP libraries and frameworks, such as NLTK, SpaCy, or TensorFlow.
• Proven track record of successfully leading software engineering teams and delivering complex projects.
