We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Line Cook/Prep Cook to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing ingredients, cooking dishes, and ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about food service and looking to develop their skills in a fast-paced restaurant environment. Responsibilities
Prepares mis-en-place and prepares food product as directed by the Chef de Partie
Executes production work as per company standards
Ensures that all cook and hold temperatures are maintained
Minimizes waste by preparing and storing food products as per company standards
Ensures that all product on work station or outlet is covered and dated
Follows correct rotation methods
Cleans and sanitizes equipment after use; maintains coolers and freezers
Reports deficiencies to the Chef de Partie
Assists in the receiving and storing of product
Participates in monthly inventory counts
Manages other initiatives or duties as required
Education and Qualification Requirements
Grade 12 education or suitable combination of education and experience
Excellent communication skills; both written and verbal
Computer literacy in MS Office an asset
First Nations experience an asset
Other languages an asset
Criminal Record Clearance is mandatory
Food Safe, SafetCheck, Food Handler or equivalent (required)
Culinary experience: 2 years (required)
Cooking experience: 3 years (required)
Work Environment Considerations
Regular kitchen environment, non-traditional work hours, exposure to heat and cold, risks of cuts and burns.
