The opportunity:
Reporting to the Manager, Learning and Development, the Learning and Development Specialist will assess and analyze needs to design, develop, and deliver multi-modal learning solutions for new and existing Advisor teams and employees. Learning solutions designed, developed, and delivered will include systems and technical solutions, processes, new implementations, and other operational needs as identified.
The Learning and Development Specialist will also provide ongoing data and reporting on programs, learner and trainer time invested, learner attendance and other status updates, keeping all trackers and rosters up-to-date and accessible for the Learning and Development leadership team.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Preparing, attending, and contributing to weekly team meetings, taking ownership for building Learning and Development capabilities.
  • Providing input into functional, operational planning and decision-making.
  • Contributing to the annual business plan for areas of accountability including the right application of digital tools and performance standards.
  • Delivering courses in an open and engaging environment for adult learning.
  • Leveraging real-life problem-solving scenarios and hands-on tools to provide opportunities for teams to actively engage with content.
  • Coordinating training event logistics with transition team leads for new teams, Independent Advisors for new associates, and direct reports for new employees.
  • Communicating training schedules, assessments, effectiveness, recommendations and training project statuses to the Manager, Learning & Development.
  • Partnering with the Project Management Office, Advisor Business Solutions, and other teams to deliver Learning and Development activities for new projects.
  • Establishing post-implementation supporting tools and resources for ongoing support with clear indication of shelf-life and maintenance requirements where needed.
  • Applying a digital mindset and engaging in continuous learning to update digital and analytical thinking capabilities.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A bachelor’s degree or diploma in business, digital learning, or similar field of study.
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in the design and development of written training material, manuals, guidebooks, and job aids.
  • Proven experience implementing multi-channel learning events in a corporate setting.
  • Strong experience working with different stakeholder groups to gather needs, build programs, measure outcomes, and recommend improvements.
  • A LEAN Greenbelt, CTDP or PDAL Certification is required; PMP, or Business Analyst Certifications would be an asset.
  • Proficiency in e-learning authoring tools like Articulate 365.
  • Strong data analytical skills.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience designing and developing digital learning assets including e-learning modules, job aids and toolkits.
