We are searching for a Learning and Development Specialist to join our Learning and Development team based in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

About the Opportunity
  • Works collaboratively with Subject Matter Experts to determine learning objectives and outcomes and obtain content
  • Ensures content matches established objectives
  • Structures content and activities for optimising learning
  • Creates and tests multimedia
  • Develops courses and curriculum (classroom, online & micro learning)
  • Creates guides and training manuals
  • Conducts research as required
  • Facilitates in person and online sessions as needed
  • Creates exercises, instructional activities and training assessments that reinforce learning
  • Designs facilitator and participant guides, resources and other training support materials
  • Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of training programs and implements necessary modifications
About You

In addition to placing high value on continuous improvement, collaboration and accountability, you bring:
  • Bachelor\'s degree in a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in instructional design or educational design, content development and facilitation.
  • Clear understanding of the principles of adult learning and a wide range of training methods, techniques, and formats; certificate in Adult Education considered an asset.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to establish rapport
  • Highly proficient in time management, organization, and planning
  • Demonstrated ability to change priorities and meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated creativity
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Articulate Products (Rise and Storyline) and HTML editors
  • Ability to effectively manage projects to meet targets
  • Train the trainer certification, bilingualism in French and English, considered an asset.
  • Previous experience in working in healthcare or hospitality considered an asset.
