Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated and skilled line and prep cook to join our dynamic team. This position is essential for maintaining our high standards of food quality, presentation, and kitchen efficiency. You will be responsible for preparing ingredients, executing menu items, and maintaining a clean and organized workstation to ensure a seamless and exceptional dining experience for our guests.



Responsibilities:

Food Preparation: Wash, peel, chop, dice, slice, and grate vegetables, fruits, and other ingredients according to established recipes and standards. Cooking: Prepare and cook menu items with precision, ensuring consistent quality, proper portioning, and appealing presentation. Station Management: Set up and stock cooking stations with necessary supplies before service and ensure they are kept clean and organized throughout the shift. Sanitation & Food Safety: Adhere strictly to all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations. Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and properly storing food. Inventory & Stocking: Monitor inventory levels, assist with receiving and stocking deliveries, and communicate any shortages to management. Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff, including chefs and other cooks, to ensure smooth and efficient operations during busy service periods. Quality Control: Ensure that all food items are fresh, properly labeled, and stored correctly kitchen staff and coordinate food preparation activities


Experience:

Previous experience in a kitchen line cook or prep position Strong background in food preparation and restaurant operations Familiarity with food safety regulations


Job Type: Full-time


Pay: $17.60 - $19.00 per hour + gratuities


Expected hours: 35-40 per week

Schedule:


Our Cafe is currently open the following hours with a typical 30 minutes scheduled before and after for opening and closing duties


Monday & Tuesday 8-5


Wednesday & Thursday 8-7


Friday 8-6


Saturday 8-4


Sunday 9-3



Evening & Weekend availability is required


Some Holidays required

Education:


AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate (preferred)


A Food Handling Certificate is required



Experience:


Hospitality: 2+ years (preferred)
