Description:

As a Technical Writer, youll be assigned to the development of a variety of documentation for software & hardware systems that help the Canadian military coordinate and conduct their tactical operations. You will work alongside the Team Lead on a day-to-day and collaborate directly with engineering teams to research and evaluate information to help with the development of documentation and information.

Responsibilities:

• Write, rewrite, and/or edit technical documents such as technical procedure manuals, user manuals, programming manuals, service manuals, operational specifications, and related technical publications for a wide range of tactical systems.
• Acquires subject knowledge by collaborating and interviewing engineering and referring to technical specifications, blueprints, engineering illustrations, and trade journals.
• Conduct quality review of materials.
• Adhere to, and advise stakeholders on government publishing guidelines
• Collaborate with team members to improve internal processes and documenting any changes.
• Recommend and implement new documentation methods and formats that serve and satisfy technical and customer requirements.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Highly organized (able to switch gears quickly)
• Ability to synthesize complex technical data into concise end user documentation
• Experience developing structured technical documentation
• Experience with problem tracking tools, processes, and documentation defect resolution
• Research experience
• Microsoft Word experience
• Framemaker (nice to have)
