Lightspeed\'s Customer Content team is looking for a Technical Writer in Montreal or Toronto to create cross-product content for our Help Centers and other customer-facing communication as we continue to grow into new markets and improve the self-serve experience for our customers. As part of the team, you\'ll be reporting to our Customer Content Senior Manager and working alongside Associate and Senior Technical Writers, Content Operations Specialist, Help Center Administrator, and Localization Project Coordinators to research, write, edit, upload, publish, and maintain self-serve content to help customers get the most out of their Lightspeed products and services.   • Working closely with members of the Customer Content, Product, and Localization teams to research and create customer-facing content for the self-serve experience of our product verticals (help centers, release notes, video scripts, etc.)
  • Writing, editing, uploading, and publishing content in accordance with the defined content strategy and style guide
  • Participating in all aspects of documentation development, from product planning through product release in a fast-paced agile environment, including assisting Senior Technical Writers and management with larger initiatives
  • Participating in the peer review process with other technical writers and teammates
  • Coaching Associate Technical Writers to further professional development and improve quality and efficiency
  • Using a data-driven approach to content development and working with the Content Operations Specialist to measure impact and reach
  • Contributing to standardization of content across help centers and platforms and visibility of the Technical Writing practice within the organization

What you\'ll be bringing to the team:
  • Exceptional writing and verbal skills in English
  • 3-5 years of experience in technical writing or content writing role
  • Experience writing effective, accessible content for technical products
  • Experience executing on high-impact help content
  • Basic HTML coding knowledge
  • Proven ability to prioritize, self-manage, and execute across multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience with knowledge/content management tools (e.g. Zendesk Guide, WordPress)
  • Passion for contributing and receiving peer feedback
Even better if you have, but not necessary:
  • Experience with project management tools (e.g. Monday.com, Asana)
  • Experience with data tools (e.g. Zendesk Explore, Google Analytics)
  • Advanced coding knowledge (HTML, CSS, JS)
  • Experience using photo editing software (e.g. Photoshop)
  • Experience writing for and working with video (e.g. YouTube Studio, Premiere Pro)
  • Experience with localization tools (e.g. Transifex, LocalizeJS)
  • Fluency in other languages
