As a Senior Technical Writer ( Sr. Content Designer ) at Sage, your mission will be to elevate and simplify our customer\'s work by surfacing the right content at the right time. Your words will become the roadmap for our customers - from CFOs to accounting staff - enabling them to navigate and fully leverage our Sage Intacct product. Your First 90 Days - Tailored Onboarding
Your first month will be all about meeting teams, building relationships, and learning. Your tailored onboarding plan will guide you as you learn the basics of Sage Intacct, explore our content tools, and processes, and meet your content and product team members. With a dedicated mentor (peer) and a supportive leader, you\'ll feel confident enough to transition from understanding Sage Intacct basics to actively shaping its voice and content by your third month.

Location: Hybrid; 2 days of in-office collaboration from either our Richmond, BC or Toronto, ON.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • You bring at least 6 years of experience in technical writing/crafting customer-facing material for a complex software product including online content and UI text.
  • You thrive in cross-functional teamwork, favoring collective insight over working in isolation.
  • You are known for your technical competence and are comfortable creating, modifying, storing, and publishing content using a variety of methods and tools. You might even have a technical trick or two to teach us!
  • You\'ll be prepared to share a portfolio of prior technical and UX writing.
  • Proven ability to write clear, detailed instructions and examples through hands-on product usage and collaboration with the product team.
  • Possess a track record of writing and editing content adeptly within tight timeframes, ready to adapt to the pace of quarterly releases.
  • Experienced in architecting content with a strategic lens, including topic-based structures, re-use strategies, localization, accessibility, and meticulous audience and task analyses.
  • Experience creating content plans, including audience and task analysis.
  • Proficiency in using Madcap Flare or other online authoring tools.

  • Lead Comprehensive Content Strategies: Drive content development from initial planning through release, ensuring a coherent strategy that encompasses help topics, release notes, instructional videos, and in-product messages.
  • Craft & Maintain User-Centric Content: Research, write, and continually enhance high-quality content that not only meets users\' information needs but also empowers them to achieve their business goals through product mastery and effective self-service.
  • Optimize Information Architecture: Employ best practices to organize and structure information, enhancing searchability, contextual access, and overall user experience.
  • Engage in Product Development & Usability Insights: Actively participate in research and development cycles, providing critical insights on product design and usability based on deep understanding gained from hands-on exploration in development sandboxes.
  • Uphold Writing Excellence in UI Text: Work collaboratively to review or create user interface text, ensuring consistency, clarity, and accuracy in all content by adhering to style guides, voice, and tone guidelines, and writing standards.
  • Collaborate Across Multidisciplinary Teams: Foster a learning environment through close collaboration with diverse colleagues, including Instructional Designers, Product Managers, Engineers, UX Designers, and Support, to ensure content is comprehensive, holistic, and reflective of cross-functional insights.

Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, education, and experience. Certain provinces in Canada require job postings to include a reasonable estimate of the salary range applicable to the role. For this role, in those locations, the target salary range for new hires is C$85,000 to C$125,000.

In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either a bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, commission plan. Our talent acquisition team will provide the specific opportunity on our bonus or incentive programs. The range listed is just one component of the Sage total compensation package.
