We are currently seeking a Senior Technical Writer to join our team in Ottawa, Ontario (CA-ON), Canada (CA).

Must perform the following:

• Document help text, user manuals, technical documentation, web page content, etc in support of ITSM
• Review documentation standards and the existing cloud and network modernization project documentation
• Document ITSM playbooks and Software Asset Management (SAM) processes for NSL software portfolios
• Determine documentation requirements and produce plans for delivery
• Gather information concerning the features and functions provided by service providers
• Develop a table of contents for each document/manual and write or edit the required content
• Investigate the accuracy of the information collected by making direct use of the material being documented
• Prepare or coordinate the preparation of any required illustrations and diagrams
• Design the layout of the documents/manuals
• Use word-processing, desk-top publishing and graphics software packages to produce final camera-ready copy
• Perform any other work related to this category

Mandatory Requirements

• Must have a university undergraduate degree OR a two year college diploma/certificate from a recognized post- secondary institution in English, Literature, Journalism or any other related field
• Must have at least ten (10) years of experience in the role of Technical Writer
• Must have seven (7) years of experience within the last fifteen (15) years documenting ALL of the following:
  • Standard operating procedures
  • System user guides
  • Technical documentation
  • Web pages or SharePoint
• Must have seven (7) years of experience within the last fifteen (15) years gathering information about IM/IT features and functionalities and preparing statements and communication for dissemination to end users
• Must have five (5) years of experience within the last ten (10) years in writing any four (4) of the following:
  • Communiqu\xc3\xa9s
  • Briefing Notes
  • Presentations to Senior Management (Director General or above)
  • IT operating procedures
  • Technical documents

Other Requirements

• Candidates located in the Ottawa region are preferred; remote work locations may also be considered
