Position Introduction:
This is a full time, permanent position and an opportunity to work with a fun, family orientated organization in a growing company division. Katch Kan offers a competitive salary and benefit packages, and an engaging work environment.
Katch Kan continues to develop a portfolio of technologies which both optimizes and sustains resource recovery programs internationally. We are looking for an IT Specialist with a post secondary and/or 2 to 5 years of dedicated IT support experience. The successful candidate will have the ability to be self-directed in a fast expanding company within Canada, the USA and international partnerships. The faculty to solve problems both intuitively and proactively.
Role Accountabilities:

  • Primary-Point-of-Contact (PPOC) for all IT-related matters;
  • Support home office and off-site locations with connectivity, computer, email, phone/fax, scanner, wireless and printer issues, set up new users, mobile phone setup etc.,
  • Responsible for new property setup, testing new procedures, and maintaining current programs
  • Responsible for assigned projects, including upgrades and conversions;
  • Develop, implement, and monitor recurring training programs within the organization;
  • Develop solid communication plan for delivery of systems training to users in all offices;
  • Keep abreast of technical developments that are of operational importance to the company;
  • Participate in projects to streamline, add or modify internal processes and policies;
  • Participate in end user system compliance and testing, creation and maintenance of system policies, procedures and controls;
  • To maintain the highest degree of confidentiality and privacy for systems management and data security for internal and external clients;
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of company’s existing IT architecture/infrastructure, and technology portfolio;
  • Provide leadership in evaluation of current applicable software and hardware for ongoing maintenance of service levels, planning and projecting for future service needs;
  • To proactively assess and to escalate high priority incidents and risk issues in a timely manner;
  • Liaise with suppliers and vendors on contracted maintenance of hardware and software;
  • Perform other duties as required.

Education & Experience:
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a technical role, with a focus on providing solutions for customers
  • Post-secondary education in fields such as: Computer and Information Systems, Computer Engineering Technology or Business/Commerce, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Knowledge of various office programs MS Project, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Project Management Skills – Planning and Executing of Projects
  • Excellent analytical, risk assessment and problem-solving skills, which include quickly identifying core issues and making effective decisions
  • Strong presentation skills, with the ability to present relevant and concise information. Ability to flex and be agile based on the audience
