Project Summary:

We are currently hiring multiple Advanced IT Specialist for a testing and evaluation centre.

The centre provides independent and expert test and evaluation in the following areas: Information and Communication Systems (ICS), Marine Systems (MS), Combat and Control Systems (CCS), & Testing and Infrastructure Support (TIS).

Responsibilities:

• Establishing, monitoring and maintaining radio frequency communication systems
• Operating and maintaining global satellite telecommunications systems
• Transmitting, receiving and storing all incoming and outgoing messages
• Managing and coordinating information systems security across platforms and fleets
• Designing, installing and operating wide-area-networks, computer systems and associated devices
• Performing network system administration, maintenance and training and manage network security
• Installing applications, troubleshooting user problems and providing training and assistance with use of computer hardware and software
• Writing programs to collect and distribute data for a variety of applications
• Ensuring the proper security and handling of communications materials, systems and equipment
• Performing diagnostics and data recovery operations and maintaining logs

• Must currently hold or be eligible for a Secret (Level II) Clearance with the Government of Canada
• Either A, B, C D or E :

• A:

• Three (3) years of work experience in a related software support field within the last six (6) years, AND,
• University post graduate degree in computer engineering or computer science
• B:

• Five (5) years of work experience in a related software support field within the last seven (7) years, AND,
• University undergraduate degree in computer engineering or computer science
• C:

• Six (6) years of work experience in a related software support field within the last ten (10) years
• Two (2) year College level certificate in computer science or equivalent
• D:

• Six (6) years of work experience in a related software support field within the last ten (10) years, AND,
• Successful completion of an IM/IT course with a minimum of six hundred (600) hours of instruction and assignments.
• E:

• Ten (10) years of work experience in a related software support field within the last fifteen (15) years
• Three (3) years of experience in the past five (5) years providing expertise in one of the following three areas of IT specializations:

• IT Security
• SAP, OR,
• Advance networking
• Education/training and the associated certification in one of the following three areas of Information Technology (IT) specializations:

• IT Security with a valid CISSP, CISA or CISM certification;
• SAP with at least one SAP certification at the level of Associate or higher; or
• Advance networking with a valid CCIE certification.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in one or more of the following:

• IS Security Engineering including securing systems, networks, cloud services
• Vulnerability Assessment and Penetration Testing of Information Systems and RCN Platform (ship) systems
• Hardware and software tools, and processes for Risk Assessment (RA) of IS
• IV&V and specification of cyber security requirements for shipboard systems
