About the role Our IT department is seeking a Part-Time IT Specialist to support our IT Manager with Infrastructure Support tasks. 0.5 FTE (20 hours per week) The IT Specialist will be responsible for ensuring the integrity and security of all technology systems that support the end users. This person is expected to know emerging technologies and resolve any issues involved in integrating new technologies with existing systems. The Information Technology Specialist is a key technical resource, providing advice, training and technical support for various projects. This position also works closely with Management in evaluating current systems and aligning business objectives with the strategy for technology. Your day-to-day

• Investigate, analyze, and resolve complex hardware problems on company computer systems; perform advanced hardware repairs, maintenance, technical assistance, and support on a range of workstations and peripherals
• Install and maintain desktop computer hardware; including computers, monitors, printers, switches, Access Points and other computer equipment, including drives and firmwares
• Provide technical assistance, support, and troubleshooting in the resolution of system communications failures and conflicts
• Manage the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade, and support of all IT systems, including servers, PCs, operating systems, telephones, and software applications
• Responsible for monitoring and oversight of daily, monthly, and quarterly reports from IT Alert Systems and monitoring tools
• Provide expertise and support during systems upgrades, installations, conversions, and file maintenance
• Oversee systems development and enhancement and the integration of new systems with existing systems
• Keep current with the latest technologies and determine what new technology solutions and implementations will meet business and system requirements
• Ensure backups are run to schedule and retention is met and aligned to the company backup policy

About you

• Prince2 Foundation - Certified and/or 3 years of working experience
• CompTIA Network+ - Certified and/or 3 years of working experience
• CompTIA Linux+ - Certified and/or 3 years of working experience
• CompTIA Cloud+ - Certified and/or 3 years of working experience
• ITIL Expert - Certified and/or 4 years of working experience
• Microsoft Certified System Engineer - Certified and/or 5 years of working experience
• Cisco Certified Network Associate - Certified and/or 5 years of working experience
