Description

ConocoPhillips Canada is recruiting for an Information Technology student, to gain hands-on experience at our Calgary-based IT Service desk. This role provides the opportunity to build experience with providing full-service end-user support, building, and repairing hardware, installation, and troubleshooting, resolving network issues, and mobility device support. This is an 8\xe2\x80\x9316-month opportunity for students with a passion for both technology and the people side of business.

While there is an opportunity for travel to ConocoPhillips Canada field sites, this role is a Monday to Friday is a Calgary office-based role, starting in May 2024.

Responsibilities

Provide front-line customer support through face-to-face IT service desk appointments, phone consultations, and TEAMS messages.

Support onboarding and technology roll-outs by building, repairing, and creating images deployed laptop and desktop computers, mobility devices, tablets, and other hardware.

Install and troubleshoot software based on end-user job requirements.

Resolve related issues such as LAN, WAN, switch, network cabling connection problems, network access, email, internet, and TEAMS issues.

Manage daily IT ticketing queue, handling incident and work requests in a timely and prioritized manner.

Support the meeting technology team with events and meeting room issues for Crestron, Lenovo, and MTR systems.

Installation, configuring and generating report of Ricoh MFD printers and HP Plotters.

Required Qualifications

Pursuing a degree or diploma in Information Technology

Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale

Must be returning to study at a post-secondary institution following the work term.

Must be legally authorized to work in Canada on a regular full-time basis without restrictions.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience and passion for working in a front-facing customer service role.

Interest and ability to troubleshoot hardware, software, and mobility devices.

Willing and able to travel via plane and shuttle to field sites on occasion (less than 10% of the time)

Some experience with Microsoft Office applications
