As a valued member of the Rural Network Services Team, you will deliver quality service in a fast-paced and high-energy environment. The IT Analyst II - Network Specialist will provide second and third level support for network related equipment and software. You will work in a complex multi-site, multi-vendor environment consisting primarily of Cisco network equipment. Primary Responsibilities Maintain Network Operations: monitors, maintains, and documents network infrastructure. Performs trouble-shooting and technical support activities and serves as an escalation point for complex network problems. Responsible for investigation, root cause analysis, and coordination of internal and external resources to resolve issues and implement solutions. Design and Implement Solutions: Participates in projects and initiatives related to updating network infrastructure, implementing new technologies, or extending the network to new facilities or site expansions. Participates as subject matter expert on teams providing input into solutions based on best practices, industry, and AHS requirements/policy. Monitors progress and due dates, escalates potential problems early, and communicates them effectively to stakeholders or managers. Customer Relationship Management and Advocacy: Proactively communicates with clients to understand customer business requirements and works closely with other teams, vendors, and service providers to design and implement network solutions. Other duties as assigned. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS currently has a Fort McMurray Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $12,480. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.

You will ensure reliable operations of information systems, resolve complex technical problems, find solutions to customer needs, and lead projects and program initiatives. You will be responsible for more advanced application, telecom or technology support duties. You will investigate, diagnose, and resolve complex problems that have typically been escalated several levels before assignment to this position, and will translate business requirements into technical requirements for a solution and recommend a potential approach to the vendor. You will analyse the solution provided to ensure that it fits both technical requirements and business needs. You will also spend time on project or initiative leadership and delivery.
Required Qualifications: Completion of bachelor\'s degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or equivalent. Additional Required Qualifications: Valid Cisco CCNA Certification. Experience in network operations and good understanding of LAN and WAN. Knowledge of IP inter-networking, LAN switching, VoIP technologies, IP routing protocols such as: IGRP, OSPF, EIGRP, and BGP. Working knowledge of Cisco products including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless infrastructure. Ability to work independently in a high-pressure environment and ability to adapt to change. Effective communication and organizational skills. Ability to work in a 24x7 on-call rotation. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Ekahau wireless survey tools or equivalent, network management and monitoring tools such as Solarwinds, Cisco Prime Infrastructure, and/or Infoblox IP address management. Previous healthcare experience.
