This senior-level performance tester position provides support to AHS IT related to the software testing and QA of the provincial Electronic Health Record (EHR) \xe2\x80\x93 Alberta Netcare Portal. The position is part of a team that is responsible for operating, maintaining and enhancing the EHR. The position influences the EHR performance testing strategy and is responsible for all aspects of performance testing (PT). The performance tester must be a driven and self-motivated professional with a passion for performance testing. The tester will want to understand the application - architecturally and from a business perspective - and shall be a creative problem solver, applying those abilities to activities from script development to performance tuning. The tester will build, maintain and enhance the PT framework. Projects require the tester to be knowledgeable of every aspect of the PT lifecycle, including the project context, identifying PT objectives and risks, assessing PT requirements, evaluating the test environments, planning, designing and implementing tests, executing and monitoring, analyzing and reporting on test results, performance tuning, archiving test scripts, data and results, as well as being skilled at data modeling (usage scenarios, load levels, data types, relative distributions) and measuring performance (response times, server resources). The tester must be adept at presenting test plans and results to audiences with varied technical knowledge and is expected to present PT concepts, techniques, and tools to colleagues and to others within the organization.

As an IT Analyst II, you will provide technical support related to information technology applications either directly to users of the systems or to service delivery functions. You will ensure reliable operations of information systems, resolve complex technical problems, find solutions to customer needs, and lead projects and program initiatives. You will be responsible for more advanced application, telecom or technology support duties. You will investigate, diagnose, and resolve complex problems that have typically been escalated several levels before assignment to this position, and will translate business requirements into technical requirements for a solution and recommend a potential approach to the vendor. You will analyse the solution provided to ensure that it fits both technical requirements and business needs. You will also spend time on project or initiative leadership and delivery.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of bachelor\'s degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or equivalent. Additional Required Qualifications:
5+ years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in web-based application performance test scripting and execution. 3+ years\xe2\x80\x99 experience with Apache JMeter (especially scripting). Extensive experience implementing and executing load, stress, endurance (soak) and capacity testing. Knowledgeable and highly experienced with every aspect of the PT lifecycle. Intermediate knowledge of Bash scripting and Java, command line/terminal and Linux. Intermediate knowledge of HTTPS and REST web requests. Intermediate SQL skills. Intermediate knowledge of hardware, database, application servers, web servers, load balancing, networks and virtualization. Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with OpenText (formerly HP) LoadRunner. Software coding experience.
