THIS IS A TEMPORARY REPLACEMENT POSITION FOR A BARGAINING UNIT EMPLOYEE. Terms and conditions of employment are as outlined in the Support Staff Collective Agreement.

Located in Barrie and under the direction of the Manager, Onshore Recruitment and Strategy, the incumbent supports recruitment initiatives targeting prospective students and agents in Canada by utilizing a variety of outreach, promotional and engagement approaches to promote all Georgian College programs and University Partnership programs; the incumbent will participate in a wide variety of events designed to increase awareness and enrollment for all programs and position Georgian as an exceptional learning destination for International Students already in Canada. Specific duties include but are not limited to:

Recruitment of Onshore International Students:

  • Plans, coordinates and participates in on-campus and off campus recruitment activities/events (i.e. individual and large groups, recruitment fairs, tradeshows, tours, presentations etc.) to support the engagement and recruitment of prospective Onshore international students and their influencers (i.e. parents, family members, language schools, agents/partners etc.)
  • Recruits current students to act as campus ambassadors and to assist during campus tours, provide mentorship and training for ambassadors
  • Collaborates with the international marketing specialist and recruitment team to create, modify, develop and deliver customized multi-media presentations and materials serving a wide variety of audiences in different formats (i.e. education fairs, workshops, tradeshows, conferences, school visits etc.)
  • Provides input into the development of effective marketing collateral to support international student recruitment activities
  • Monitors and responds to email, website, in-person and telephone inquiries from prospective onshore international students
  • Generates new leads by utilizing a variety of outreach approaches (traditional and digital) to target a diverse student population
  • Provides guidance, assistance and information to individual future onshore international students and/or agents/ICRs regarding Georgian College, the application process/procedures, admission and articulation opportunities at Georgian
  • Follows up with students to ensure their smooth transition and enrolment to Georgian College, ensuring students are connecting with the appropriate College resources and contact to help increase engagement and transition success
Recruitment Stakeholder Relations:
  • Builds and improves relationships with customers, key recruiters and partners
  • Provides various resources and information that helps to build the GC brand awareness and loyalty
  • Works with internal departments to develop/enhance processes/practices.
  • Responds to stakeholder inquires, and complaints by resolving issues promptly. Provides support and/or navigation to onshore students experiencing difficulties by connecting them to the appropriate support resources, either in the international department or the college campuses
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Successfully completed a two-year postsecondary diploma in a relevant field of study that may include, but is not limited to Business Administration, Marketing, International Business, Tourism/Hospitality.
  • Three years of experience in a role that includes International student recruitment, marketing and sales, admissions or international education experience
  • Proven experience with assessment of academic documentation from differing educational institutions and systems both domestic and international and analyzing data and preparing reports
  • Experience and knowledge with Microsoft Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Outlook) and other presentation and CRM software
  • Experience working in a multi-cultural setting and strong skills related to cultural sensitivity
  • Experience with public speaking, and event planning
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Must be fluent in English, ability to communicate in a second language other than French is considered an asset
  • Proven written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Ability to work non-traditional hours with occasional overnight travel to represent Georgian at various events
  • Ability to manage time, multitask and meet provided deadlines
