Your opportunity:

The Office of the Faculty Registrar works closely with departments and colleges at the University of Toronto, concerning virtually all matters relating to Arts and Science students. Our department members are dedicated to aid all students to the greatest extent, to make their university experience as smooth and seamless as possible. We coordinate personal, financial, and academic counselling, registration and enrollment, student records, transfer credit, petitions, final examinations, and graduation.

Under the general direction of the Associate Director, Student Recruitment, the Recruitment Officerworks closely with the Faculty's recruitment team to implement strategies and initiatives to assist the Faculty of Arts and Science to achieve its undergraduate recruitment goals. As part of a dynamic recruitment team, the Recruitment Officer provides direction and leadership in all areas of undergraduate student recruitment and helps with all unit activities. In all cases, the position involves close contact and cooperation with the central Office of Student Recruitment team, undergraduate recruitment offices across the University, as well as the Faculty's registrar's office, 29 departments and 7 colleges.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting detailed data analysis to inform recruitment strategies and plans
  • Fostering and maintaining a network of external contacts to support recruitment strategies
  • Delivering student recruitment presentations
  • Tracking and monitoring recruitment activities
  • Determining logistics required for virtual recruiting activities
  • Advising potential applicants, students, parents, and/or guidance counselors on admissions criteria and processes by probing and providing a range of options and possible consequences
  • Reviewing and assessing admissions applications
Essential Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
  • Minimum four years related undergraduate student recruitment experience in recruitment and admissions at a post-secondary institution.
  • Must be familiar with issues related to domestic and international student recruitment, admissions, and university life.
  • Demonstrated experience presenting to large and diverse groups.
  • Proven experience in planning and coordinating large and small group recruitment events.
  • Understanding of the University level education and undergraduate programs
  • Excellent computer skills, including in-depth knowledge of and extensive experience with Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
  • Well-developed project-management and problem-solving skills is required
  • Experience using ROSI and CRM systems and content management systems (e.g., Slate).
  • Frequent long-term travel several times a year (e.g. 1-3 week periods at a time) is required.
  • Public speaking experience in diverse settings and to a range of audiences
Assets (Nonessential):
  • Preference will be given to applicants with experience and knowledge of University of Toronto policies and procedures
  • An ability to communicate verbally and in writing in a language other then English is anasset.
  • Related marketing experience an asset.
