In this role, the instrumentation technician will be member of multi-discipline teams responsible for plant maintenance and outage support.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Two years of trade experience as fully qualified Journeyman
  • A valid Alberta Journeyman certified or Interprovincial "Red Seal" Instrumentation certificate
  • High School Diploma or GED (General Equivalency Diploma) required
  • Knowledge and understanding of Pressure, Temperature, Level and Flow instrumentation and controls
  • Prior use and knowledge of test equipment related to the instrumentation trade
  • Able to read and work from P&ID\'s, loop drawings, data sheets, etc
  • Possess a valid driver\xe2\x80\x99s license and a clean driving record
Responsibilities:
  • Performing planned Preventative Maintenance activities and repairs
  • Maintenance, testing and troubleshooting experience on all types of instrumentation and controls
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance performed and equipment deficiencies
  • Participate in the development of, and the ability to follow maintenance procedures and instructions
Location and other Key Details:
  • You will work out of Syncrude Mildred Lake site in Fort McMurray, Alberta
  • The shift schedule is Monday to Thursday, 4 days on / 3 days off
  • This position is safety sensitive
  • You will be required to perform some heavy lifting, use ladders and work on elevated work sites such as scaffolds and towers with the ability to perform in a variety of different environments both indoor and outdoor as well as within confined spaces
