Come be a part of an outstanding team working with industry leaders that have been executing work at the Horizon site for over a decade. This is an exciting fly-in, fly-out position with charter flights provided from Calgary or Edmontona and travel assistance for those outside of Alberta. This is a shutdown schedule that will begin on a 6/1 and move to a 24/4 to finish up the scope. 12 hour days, overtime after 8 hours a day or 40 hours per week. Base rate is $51.05/hour + $3/hr night shift premium.Instrument Technicians install, maintain, and repair the measuring and control devices used in industrial and commercial processing. They work with various pneumatic, electronic, and microcomputer devices utilized for measuring and controlling pressure, flow, temperature, level, motion, force, and chemical composition.Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate effectively within a team, being receptive to training, mentoring, and working cohesively.
  • Utilize tubing expertise for the installation and maintenance of instrumentation systems.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook, and proprietary software used on site.
  • Work with DCS systems and control hierarchy, including Delta V, AMS, and control studio. Experience in instrument commissioning and configuration is an asset.
  • Expertly read and comprehend drawings, specifications, P&ID\'s, ILPs, and isometrics.
  • Display adeptness in using tools relevant to the instrumentation field.
  • Exhibit advanced proficiency with electronic dead weight testers (such as Crystal), process meters (Fluke 744/754 or equivalent), Ralston pumps, TREX/475 field communicators, and other simulating testing equipment.
  • Implement strict adherence to safe work practices and procedures.
  • Maintain high-quality workmanship standards and habits.
  • Utilize knowledge of various instrument manufacturers, including Rosemount, VEGA, Krohne, Flowserve, Metso, Fisher, Yokogawa, and others.
  • Possess expert understanding of Hazardous location requirements.
Qualifications:
  • Valid Journeyperson certification as an Instrumentation Technician or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in installing, calibrating, and maintaining a variety of instrumentation and control systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve technical issues.
  • Familiarity with programming and configuring control systems, PLCs, and SCADA systems.
  • Solid understanding of electrical and electronic principles relevant to instrumentation.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Commitment to safety protocols and adherence to industry regulations.
  • Physical aptitude to perform tasks that may require lifting, bending, and working at heights.
Minimum Requirements
  • Common Safety Orientation (CSO) or CSTS-09
  • Energy Safety Canada Certified Confined Space Entry & Monitor
  • Energy Safety Canada Certified Fall Arrest and/or Fall Protection
  • This role requires a satisfactory criminal record check due to access to nuclear substances.
  • Valid Government Issued Identification
