Role Summary:

Davina\'s Swim House is looking for a full range HR Generalist. This full-time role supports Managers and Employees with recruitment, onboarding, performance management, payroll, engagement, workforce planning, and more.

The HR Generalist will have key competencies in relationship building and collaboration. As a generalist you will be responsible for building positive interactions, both internally and externally; while building enthusiasm and appreciation to achieve work related goals.

The HR Generalist will be hands-on and connect across the Swim School providing exceptional support and service, this is a full and dynamic role in which everyday is different

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

Recruitment and Onboarding

Develop and drive recruitment strategy for part-time and full-time staff.

Manage all aspects of the onboarding recruitment cycle inclusive of job postings, interviews, negotiation of offers and employee onboarding. Manage the offboarding process, track retention and facilitate exit interviews of departing employees.

Collaborate with managers to understand skills and qualifications required for various open positions.

Initiate and analyze staff engagement surveys on a sessional basis. Provide recommendations to the management team.

Work with the management team to anticipate needs of each location and future organization and program needs.

Leadership Support

Review, track and document compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, and further skills development. These include mandatory aquatic certifications, non-mandatory aquatic certifications, safety training, and legislative training requirements.

Serve as the primary point of contact for human resources related matters.

Process bi-weekly payroll for all employees, ensuring compliance with Canadian payroll standards.

Provide coaching and support to leadership on a variety of employee relations topics inclusive of managing absenteeism coaching and mentoring hourly and salaried staff. Supporting leaders in all areas related to performance management.

Work with the leadership team to create and foster a positive and collaborative environment for employees.

Provide guidance on the interpretation and application of policies and legislation.

Maintain training records and ensure training is aligned with legislation.

Health and Safety Management

Works in compliance with the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act and all other relevant government legislations.

Work alongside the Health & Safety Committee, and manage the occupational Health and Safety programs.

Update and maintain Safety Data Sheets

Conduct monthly Health and Safety walk throughs and meetings.

Ongoing HR Services

Demonstrate a consultative and collaborative approach and provide HR support to employees on all HR and people related matters.

Examine trends in employee data and develop strategies to align employee behavior with organizational goals.

Regularly review, update and maintain the employee handbooks, ensuring that all documentation and policies are in compliance with legislation.

Maintain and update organizational charts as needed.

Ensure that a DEI (Diversity, equity and inclusion lens is incorporated in all HR initiatives, ie: recruiting, policies, etc.

Maintain employee data and personnel files.

Knowledge of Provincial and Federal Labour employment laws and regulations.

Proficient with Microsoft office Suite.

Is a team player with the confidence to take the lead and guide when necessary.

Enjoys a fast-paced environment, working with diverse and younger demographics.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor\'s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field.

3-5 years progressive experience as a Human Resource Generalist or equivalent.
