Summary


WE ARE LOOKING FOR A HR ADVISOR \xe2\x80\x93 ENGAGEMENT AND WELLNESS The HR Advisor \xe2\x80\x93 Engagement and Wellness will be responsible for all of the Hyatt Regency Calgary wellness, DEI and engagement programs. The role will also provide leadership, advice, and support to the development of wellness, DEI and engagement programs that support health and wellbeing of our colleagues and promote a positive workplace experience. This includes supporting colleagues, managers and the HR team with colleague engagement practices, DEI programs, group insurance programs, workplace accommodations and occupational health and safety. With a positive, energetic, compassionate, and kind self-guiding core this role will collaborate through proactive communication, openness, and practical integrated solutions. This role will report to the Assistant Director, Human Resources. What is expected of me in this role?
  • Acts as a trusted advisor to all colleagues and leaders.
  • Acts as a first point of contact in human resources team to address any workplace accommodation and ability management related questions and concerns from colleagues and leaders.
  • Builds strong working relationships, and provides consultation and recommendations to leaders, and employees regarding human resources policies and best practices in the areas of disability management, duty to accommodate, occupational health and safety including psychological safety.
  • Maintains appropriate case management documentation and file management; notifies and coordinates with leaders, payroll and all affected stakeholders on employee return to work plans and timelines.
  • Supports Hyatt Calgary\xe2\x80\x99s Occupational Health and Safety policies and programs and sits on the joint OH&S Committee
  • Develops and implements sustainable programs to promote and support holistic colleague wellness.
  • Monitors the colleague engagement survey uses the reporting dashboards to share key metrics to be shared with internal stakeholders.
  • Work with Managers to identify areas for improvement within our current DEI programs.
  • Plan and develop with the Human Resources Director the employee engagement strategy.
Qualifications and experience
  • Diploma in human resources or other related discipline. CPHR is an asset.
  • 3+ years\xe2\x80\x99 working in a Human Resources team developing employee engagement, wellness and DEI programming.
  • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines and best practices, including employee engagement programming, DEI, disability management and occupational health and safety.
  • Communicates effectively with others, both verbally and in writing to build open and respectful dialogue, establishing understanding and commitment to initiatives.
  • Expertise in Canadian benefit systems and HRIS.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach managers and supervisors using HR best practices.
  • Current work authorization for Canada.
