Job Summary As a member of the Human Resources Employee Centre (HREC) team, the HREC Advisor works collaboratively with other members of the HR Operations team to deliver of a wide range of efficient and effective human resource services to past and present employees.

The HREC Advisor will complete routine HR transactional activities, provide accurate, efficient and consistent support to the business in areas such as process and procedural inquiries, HR transactions, changes to personal information and in resolve any administrative issues while maintaining a level of service that is responsive to the clientaEUR(TM)s needs.



The current vacancy is a 12-month Term and can be located at one of the following locations:

  • Moncton ACC
  • Gander ACC
  • Montreal ACC
  • Toronto ACC
  • National Capital Region (Ottawa)
  • Winnipeg ACC
  • Edmonton ACC
  • Vancouver ACC
If located outside of these areas, other flexible work arrangements are possible.

Responsibilities
  • First or second point of contact responsible for responding to inquiries from internal and external clients, via email and phone channels. The advisors focus will be in the area of Time and Leave HR activities which would include but not limited to processing overtime data entry, assisting with leave year end activities, validating leave and overtime banks, and providing support to the Time and Leave Team Lead.
  • Guide and educate employees in the use of the various self-service tools (e.g. Workday, BenPlus, SunLife, etc) when appropriate.
  • Educate employees and managers on HR policies and procedures; provide guidance on collective agreements.
  • Process simple and complex transactions and data entries related to an employee and/or pensioneraEUR(TM)s working life.
  • Work closely with the broader HR team to deliver on HR related initiatives.
  • Liaise with other areas of HR to assist clients in resolving all matters including those that are beyond scope.
  • Responsible for documenting, updating and sharing processes and best practices.
  • Diagnose employee and organizational data issues and lead correction efforts through effective communication and efficient escalation and execution.
  • Proactively identify process inefficiencies and inconsistencies and collaborate toward an improved and more productive process that will enhance the overall client experience.
Requirements:

Education
  • Completion of a College or University diploma/degree in a related field ie. Business, Finance, Accounting, Human Resources or an acceptable combination of training and experience
Experience
  • Experience working with technical applications such as Workday or other HRIS/HRMS.
  • 3 years to 5 years of Human Resources experience
  • Experience providing guidance and counsel to employees during the stages of their employment cycle.
  • Advanced skills and experience with computer applications particularly with Microsoft Word, Excel and Teams.
Knowledge
  • Progressive human resources knowledge acquired through education, training and/or experience.
  • Knowledge of various NAV CANADA collective bargaining agreements, corporate policies and practices related to employee compensation, Isolated Post Allowance Policy, provisions of the NAV CANADA group benefits plans and the NAV CANADA Pension Plan would be considered an asset.
  • Progressive knowledge of all policies and procedures within the organization and able to navigate and direct clients to appropriate resources.
  • Knowledge of general HR procedures and practices including but not limited to: HR data administration, benefit administration, handling of confidential or sensitive information and employee records.

  • Ability to work and evolve in an environment that is constantly changing, managing multiple priorities, volume fluctuations and tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
