How will you contribute?

The Supervisor, HR Service Centre and Quality Assurance Lead is accountable for providing operational oversight to the administration and coordination of HR business processes, operating practices, process flows, procedures and tools required for the effective management of the HR Service Centre. The incumbent implements work processes and practices, develops and leads the HR system quality assurance for the HR Directorate in order for the Directorate to consistently meet its service standards and to provide quality services.

The Supervisor is also responsible for providing HR system user support, training and recommendations for continuous system improvements.

Prerequisites

  • Completed post-secondary education in human resources or relevant field of expertise OR have an equivalent combination of education, training and experience;
  • Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience in the HR field is preferred;
  • Minimum of three (3) years\' experience in the provision of quality HR services within various HR fields;
  • Solid knowledge of human resources methods and best practices including recruitment and staffing, compensation and benefits, leave management, reporting, position management, health and safety, learning, talent management programs and employee relations;
  • Extensive knowledge of HR technology solutions, HRIS systems to effectively provide user support to the HR ERP modules and tools and ensure their continuous improvement;
  • Knowledge of quality assurance tools, internal controls, performance standards/indicators;
  • Knowledge of relevant employment legislation under the Senate jurisdiction and their application best practices. Including but not limited to, the Parliamentary Employment and Staff Relations Acts, the Canada Labour Code (Part II), the applicable employment standards, the Canadian Human Rights Act, the Official Languages Act, Pay Equity Act, and Common Law;
  • Proven analytical, problem-solving and critical-thinking skills with strong attention to detail;
  • Possess outstanding communication (both written and oral) and leadership skills as well as teamwork competencies to understand customer needs, develop effective HR tools and solutions, and ensure customer satisfaction;
  • Knowledge of project management principles, methods and techniques would be considered an asset;
  • Human Resources designation or certification considered is an asset.
