Carman, Manitoba
On behalf of our client, Homestead Co-op, we are currently recruiting for a Home Centre Manager based in Carman, Manitoba. As the Home Centre Manager, you are responsible for leading the daily operations and long-term strategic direction of the Home Centre. This is a key leadership role overseeing team development, sales growth, customer service, marketing, and operations to ensure an exceptional experience for both team members and guests.
As the Estimator, you are responsible for:

  • Lead, coach, and support the Home Centre team, including department managers and front-line staff, fostering a culture of accountability, respect, and continuous improvement.
  • Recruit, train, and mentor team leaders and team members, ensuring clear performance goals, regular feedback, and development plans.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans aligned with Homestead Co-op's vision, driving growth and profitability across multiple product categories.
  • Set and monitor departmental sales objectives, ensuring targets are met or exceeded through effective sales planning and execution.
  • Promote adherence to Homestead Co-op's merchandising, branding, and image standards, and oversee safety and asset protection protocols.
  • Oversee procurement and inventory control, ensuring customer needs are met while managing slow-moving and obsolete merchandise.
  • Drive marketing efforts in collaboration with internal teams and CRS programs to raise the profile of the Carman Home Centre.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with customers, contractors, and the broader community, enhancing Homestead's reputation and reach.
  • Manage all financial aspects of the Home Centre including budgeting, pricing, margin control, expense management, and reporting.
  • Champion exceptional customer service standards and resolve customer concerns with urgency and care.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and promote a strong safety culture by modeling safe practices and coaching others.
You and Your Experience:
  • Minimum of Grade 12 education; post-secondary training in business, retail, or a related field is an asset.
  • 5-7 years of progressive leadership experience in the retail, hardware, or home building industry.
  • Proven sales experience (minimum 3 years) with a strong understanding of merchandising and customer service.
  • Demonstrated success in leading teams, developing others, and managing performance in a fast-paced retail environment.
  • Strong business insight, including budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning.
  • Comfortable with technology and able to use reporting tools and systems to support decision-making.
  • Commitment to safety, operational excellence, and positive guest experiences.
