About the Role




The successful candidate will be under the general supervision of the Associate Director, Athletics and ultimately responsible to the Executive Director Athletics and Recreation. The candidate will be highly motivated, display effective and positive leadership, and have superior supervision skills in directing and maintaining a successful and competitive basketball program at SFU. The role involves leading the development of the SFU Men's Basketball program, aligning its objectives with the department's goals. Building strong relationships with department staff, university faculties, clubs, communities, high schools, boosters, and alumni is essential. The position includes providing guidance to student-athletes to help them reach their full academic and athletic potential. It requires adherence to Simon Fraser University's policies, procedures, and best practices. Ensuring the health, safety, integrity, and educational welfare of student-athletes is a key responsibility. The role also involves assisting in the overall growth and promotion of the SFU Men's Basketball program. Collaboration with various stakeholders and fostering a positive environment is critical for success. Additionally, contributing to the program's long-term success and visibility is expected.
