Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable basketball coach to join our youth basketball program based in Calgary. You will be responsible for providing coaching sessions to players, helping them develop their skills, and contributing to the success of our basketball program.

The program will run on FRIDAY Evenings, 6:30-9:30pm, from Jan to March.

Location: Bowness Community

Responsibilities:

Develop and implement basketball coaching plans tailored to the needs of our players Conduct basketball practices, drills, and games to improve player skills and performance Provide guidance, feedback, and encouragement to players to help them reach their potential Collaborate with the program director to plan and coordinate practices, games, and other activities Maintain a positive and inclusive coaching environment that promotes sportsmanship and team spirit
Requirements:

Previous experience as a basketball coach with a strong understanding of basketball fundamentals, strategies, and techniques Experienced working with youth and little kids Have experience in coaching beginners Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with players and parents Ability to work independently and manage coaching sessions efficiently Valid coaching certifications or qualifications (e.g., NCCP, first aid, etc.) preferred
Compensation: Competitive hourly rate ($25-35) based on experience and qualifications.
