We are seeking an experienced Head Cook to lead our kitchen team in delivering high-quality meals in a fast-paced restaurant environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and a strong understanding of food safety and preparation techniques. As the Head Cook, you will be responsible for overseeing kitchen operations, ensuring that all meals are prepared to the highest standards, and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen.
Responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate the activities of kitchen staff to ensure efficient meal preparation and service.
Making sure the cook staff is properly stocking inventory for the following day.
Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and menu specifications.
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain high standards of hygiene in the kitchen.
Manage inventory, including ordering supplies and maintaining stock levels.
Train new kitchen staff on food handling procedures, cooking techniques, and safety protocols.
Collaborate with management to develop seasonal menus and special offerings.
Monitor food quality during preparation and presentation to ensure consistency.
Assist in maintaining kitchen equipment and report any maintenance issues as needed.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a cook in a restaurant or food service environment.
Strong knowledge of food handling, preparation, and safety practices.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
Familiarity with various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with staff and management.
