Responsibilities

Perform a wide range of hair services including cuts, styling, coloring, highlights, balayage, and special treatments such as keratin smoothing or deep conditioning. Skillfully apply hair extensions and eyelash extensions to enhance client beauty goals. Utilize salon software like MINDBODY to schedule appointments, update client profiles, and process transactions efficiently. Offer expert advice on hair care routines, product recommendations, and retail sales to boost client satisfaction and salon revenue. Maintain impeccable sanitation standards by cleaning tools, sanitizing workstations, and adhering to health regulations for safety and hygiene. Assist with front desk duties such as greeting clients, managing appointment bookings, and handling client inquiries with professionalism. Provide mentorship and training to junior staff or apprentices to foster team growth and skill development. Conduct consultations on color theory to develop personalized looks that complement each client's features. Execute precision barbering techniques using straight razors for classic shaves or detailed fades when required. Stay current with industry trends in hair styling, nail care, makeup application, and retail offerings to ensure innovative service delivery. Engage in upselling of products and services through excellent communication skills while maintaining genuine client relationships. Support store management by assisting with inventory control, retail math calculations for sales targets, and store operations when needed.

Skills

Proven expertise in hair styling techniques across diverse hair types and textures. Strong knowledge of color theory principles for safe and effective coloring services. Experience with hair extensions application including tape-in, clip-in, keratin bonds or sew-in methods. Skilled in eyelash extensions application for enhancing natural beauty. Proficiency with salon management software such as MINDBODY for scheduling and point-of-sale transactions. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds. Knowledge of sanitation protocols to ensure a safe environment for clients and staff alike. Capable of performing nail care services when required; basic knowledge of manicure/pedicure procedures is a plus. Familiarity with retail sales strategies including upselling techniques to maximize revenue opportunities. Ability to mentor junior team members effectively while fostering a collaborative atmosphere. Experience in store management functions such as inventory control or front desk operations is advantageous but not mandatory.
