Be a part of building and growing a leading national sports brand. The Canadian Olympic Committee (COC) is a national, private, not-for-profit organization committed to high-performance sports excellence. We are the largest private supporter of high-performance sport in Canada and we are responsible for all aspects of Canada’s involvement in the Olympic Movement, including participation in the Olympic and Pan American Games. The Canadian Olympic Committee (COC) is seeking a talented graphic designer to join its Brand team. Reporting to the Lead Designer, the Graphic Designer will serve as a creative resource for all departments to support key corporate and Team Canada marketing initiatives. This individual will also play an integral role in creating assets for the organization in the lead up to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games and beyond.

LOCATION

This position may be located in either of the COC offices in Toronto, ON at 250 Yonge St. Suite 3000 or in Montreal, QC, at 500 René-Lévesque Boulevard West. The COC offers a hybrid work model that allows for up to two days of remote work each week.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND PRIORITIES

  • Assist the Lead Designer with the development and execution of a wide range of creative: branding & visual identity, digital interfaces & graphics, social media graphics, motion graphics & animation, print & publications, campaign/advertising, environmental graphics, experiences & events, stationery, PPT templates, packaging and more
  • Receive design briefs and execute on assigned tasks with beautiful, purpose-driven and efficient solutions
  • Contribute to all phases of the design process: research, ideation, concepts, design development and production
  • Ensure that all creative assets produced are tied into the brand platform and follow brand guideline
  • Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS AND CRITICAL SKILLS Education and Experience
  • Post-secondary training in visual design
  • 1-2 years’ related experience in an agency or marketing environment (recent college or university graduates are also encouraged to apply)
Skills and Abilities
  • Strong passion for design
  • Proficient in the latest editions of InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects and Adobe Acrobat
  • Excellent typography and layout skills
  • Strong motion graphics skills
  • Strong photo editing capability
  • An aptitude and willingness to learn, follow direction and receive feedback
  • Current on design and marketing trends
  • Proficient in designing for accessibility
  • Excellent interpersonal/communications, analytical and organizational skills
  • Deadline-driven performer with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • A high degree of self-motivation, and the ability to work well in a team setting
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Bilingualism (English/French) an asset
  • Passion for sport an asset
  • Demonstrates and embodies the COC values of Accountability, Excellence, Fun, Respect & Bravery
A portfolio demonstrating work experience is mandatory
