Assistant Graphic Designer Escarpment Magazine is seeking a creative and motivated individual with a passion for design and layout.The successful candidate will work under the direction of the creative director, and will be responsible for designing print advertisements, editorial layouts and promotional materials.Responsibilities: 1. Communicate directly with clients about deadlines and ad submission requirements.2. Communicate directly with the sales team and clients to collect and organize all necessary assets to design print ads, and editorials.3. Proof all incoming "press-ready" artwork for spelling and grammatical errors or any design mistakes, and ensure ads are sized correctly.4. Assist the Creative Director with any design related work. Including the collection of assets, editorial layout, text formatting, file formatting and organization.5. Assist the Publisher and Creative Director with ad placement and pagination.6. Assist the Editor-In-Chief with any editorial related requests.7. Work with writers and photographers to ensure all deadlines are met, and all materials are supplied.8. As well as Mac operating system, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.Critical thinking mindset and keen attention to detail.Creative mindset to be able to bring a design to life with simple instructions.Strong organisational skills to keep up with various client needs or team projects.Time management skills to work on multiple projects at once and with various deadlines.Degree or diploma in graphic design or similar program.We have a relaxed and positive atmosphere and a bright and open office environment in Downtown Clarksburg.As a quarterly publication, we are looking to hire an Assistant Graphic Designer for approximately four to five weeks per issue. Monday to Friday with the occasional weekend.
