POSITION SUMMARY //
RED Mountain Resort, based in Rossland British Columbia, is in search for a Mid-level Graphic Designer with a Marketing background to either work remotely or at the RED offices in Rossland, BC. You will be reporting to RED’s Director of Sales and Marketing, located in Bend Oregon, working alongside him in-person during part of the winter and remote the rest of the year. RED Mountain’s exposure and brand continues to grow in the ski industry and thus the workload similarly grows. This newly-added position will be working mainly with the Director of Sales and Marketing and the Brand and Web Manager (also remote), and is responsible for any & all print collateral as well creating web graphics when needed for RED’s Sales and Marketing Department, and RED’s inter-departments and sub brands.
With a desired marketing background for this position, this individual should understand how to approach design projects and concepts not just from an aesthetic perspective, but from a functionality and market-driven perspective, and should be expected to explain why certain design choices were made. This individual is also expected to be a self-starter in brainstorming collateral copy ideas, marketing assets, and the like.
This position will also work collaboratively with the rest of the RED Sales & Marketing team when needed, located onsite: Social Media Coordinator, Event Coordinator, and Marketing & Event Manager. Project collaboration, task management, and job tracking is all done via our project management system, Wrike.
This position is a 40 hour/week through April and will be reassessed at that point for potential year-round employment. GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES //

• Work closely with and report to the Sales and Marketing Director to fulfill day-to-day requests and to execute needed concepts.

• Work remotely with and occasionally report to the Web and Brand Manager to collaborate on projects, connect on assets and branding direction when required for campaign projects, and concept brainstorming.

• Design print marketing and sales collateral, resolve layout challenges, and explore new techniques and styles to keep up with industry trends.

• Strong and natural ability to draft copy for marketing materials when needed (we have a copywriter but is not always immediately available). Must have excellent grammar.

• Enhance and refresh the layouts and designs for RED’s print collateral to keep the RED brand fresh and at the front of the industry. This includes but not limited to: brochures, flyers, posters, mountain trail maps, F&B menus, resort signage, billboards, print ads, and more.

• Be responsible for designing print material, signage, promos, etc. for all of RED’s events and related brands including but not limited to: Rafters Bar, Fall Line Ski & Snowboard School, Nowhere Special Hostel, The Constella: A Cabin Collective, and Red Mountain Resort Lodging.

• Color correcting and photo retouching

• Maintain integrity of production schedules in a deadline-driven business

• Work daily in the Wrike Project Management Platform with other RED team members to complete projects and tasks on-time across multiple departments.

Job Requirements/Qualifications: Job Requirements:

• Must be detail-oriented, ensuring style guide and general design standards are always upheld.

• Must be flexible with changing priorities, short deadlines, and multitasking.

• Must be an excellent communicator and be able to take direction and feedback and provide feedback yourself

• Ability to lead projects, be organized, and be a self-starter with minimal direction at times.

• Comfortable working remotely and enjoy both online collaboration through Skype, Google Meet, etc. and in-person collaboration.

• Excellent written grammar and overall great writing skills

• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (In Design, Photoshop, Illustrator all required)

• Comfortable in Mac Environment

• Possess exceptional design and layout skills

• At least 3 years of professional graphic design experience

• At least 3 years of marketing experience

• Strong familiarity and interest in snowboarding or skiing market preferred

• Plus: Experience with project management platforms

• Plus: Good sense of humor

• Plus: Illustration skills
