Chez Aluminium Rio Tinto (RTA), nous stimulons la prochaine generation de gains de productivite grace a la transformation numerique et aux technologies de l'industrie 4.0, pilotees par une equipe centrale : le programme Numerique et Technologie.
Depuis sa creation en 2019, ce programme elabore et deploie des feuilles de route numeriques propres a chaque segment de la chaine de valeur de l'aluminium : bauxite, alumine et transformation de l'aluminium. Au cours des cinq dernieres annees, les progres ont ete significatifs, tant sur le plan de la valeur livree que de l'evolution des mentalites et comportements. Cette demarche repose sur une integration etroite avec le Systeme de Production Securitaire Rio Tinto (RTSPS), encourage la collaboration interfonctionnelle et reduit les redondances regionales.
Nous recherchons aujourd'hui un(e) Gestionnaire principal(e), Numerique et Technologie qui jouera un role de conseiller(ere) strategique et d'influence pour guider l'execution des feuilles de route numeriques etablies. Vous serez responsable de veiller a l'alignement strategique, de questionner les choix technologiques, de promouvoir la collaboration et de batir des partenariats cles. Votre succes reposera sur votre capacite a influencer sans autorite hierarchique, a promouvoir les meilleures pratiques et a remettre en question le statu quo.
Vos principales responsabilites
Alignement strategique et execution
Evaluer et ajuster les feuilles de route numeriques pour refleter les priorites d'affaires et tendances technologiques.
Accompagner les equipes regionales dans l'execution, tout en maintenant un haut niveau d'excellence operationnelle.
Valider la robustesse, la scalabilite et l'adequation strategique des solutions proposees.
Promouvoir la replication des solutions efficaces a l'echelle du groupe Aluminium.
Etablir des partenariats cles pour accelerer les solutions et nourrir un vivier de talents numeriques.
Gouvernance des investissements et benefices
Prioriser les investissements numeriques ayant le plus fort impact sur l'entreprise.
Suivre les depenses en capital liees au numerique et veiller a leur alignement strategique.
Suivre et valider les benefices (tangibles et intangibles) des projets numeriques selon les objectifs d'affaires et le rendement attendu.
Leadership et gestion d'equipe
Encadrer une equipe de conseillers(eres) principaux(ales) repartie entre Montreal et Brisbane.
Encourager la collaboration, l'innovation et la responsabilite au sein de l'equipe.
Assurer le developpement professionnel de l'equipe pour renforcer l'expertise en transformation numerique.
Favoriser la coordination entre les regions pour maintenir une vision integree.
Influence et engagement des parties prenantes
Travailler etroitement avec les equipes de direction regionales pour aligner les efforts.
Batir la confiance afin de favoriser l'adoption de pratiques innovantes.
Veiller a ce que les investissements numeriques produisent des resultats concrets et mesurables.
Profil recherche
Diplome universitaire en ingenierie, informatique, technologie ou administration (ou equivalent).
Minimum de 15 ans d'experience dans des roles de direction lies a la transformation numerique, idealement dans l'industrie lourde.
Expertise approfondie en technologies de l'industrie 4.0 : IoT, IA, robotique, analytique avancee.
Capacite a guider les decisions technologiques en fonction des objectifs d'affaires a long terme.
Leadership d'influence dans des environnements matriciels internationaux.
Solides competences en gestion de projets d'investissement numerique.
Experience demontree dans la resolution de problemes operationnels complexes via des solutions numeriques.
Esprit collaboratif et oriente changement culturel.
Excellentes aptitudes en communication et en gestion des parties prenantes.

About the role
Shaping the Future of Aluminium with Integrated Operations & Digital Transformation
At Rio Tinto Aluminium (RTA), we're driving the next generation of productivity improvements through digital transformation and Industry 4.0 technologies via a central team referred to as our Digital and Technology program.
Since its creation, in 2019, the program has been driving the creation and implementation of Digital Roadmaps tailored for each Aluminium value stream: bauxite, alumina, and aluminium processing. Over the past five years, we've made significant progress, with value delivery by the program and in shaping mindset and behaviour using a holistic approach ensuring integration with the Rio Tinto Safe Production System (RTSPS), fostering collaboration across functions, and reducing duplication of efforts across regions.
We're now looking for a
Sr. Manager Digital and Technology,
to act as a strategic advisor and influencer to guide the execution of established digital roadmaps across the Aluminium organization. This role requires a strong focus on aligning execution with strategic goals, ensuring technological choices align with long-term objectives, fostering collaboration across regional teams and building strategic partnership to accelerate solutions. Success in this role will rely on influencing without direct authority, championing best practices, and challenging the status quo to ensure effective implementation and adoption of digital solutions.
Reporting to the General Manager Performance Management and Planning, the responsibilities of the Sr. Manager Integrated Productivity include:
Strategic Guidance and Execution Alignment:
Assess and influence adjustments to existing digital roadmaps to ensure they remain aligned with evolving business priorities and technological trends.
Collaborate with regional delivery teams to guide the "how" of digital implementation, ensuring execution adheres to strategic goals and operational excellence standards.
Evaluate and question technological decisions to ensure solutions are robust, scalable, and aligned with long-term business needs.
Promoting the scalability and replication of successful solutions across the Aluminium business.
Building strategic partnership to accelerate solutions and develop digital talent pipeline
Governance of Investments and Benefits:
Ensure digital investments are prioritized to deliver the highest business impact, aligning with the programs's strategic objectives.
Monitor capital expenditure related to digital initiatives, ensuring spending remains within budget and is directed toward impactful projects.
Track and validate the tangible and intangible benefits derived from digital initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and the program's IRR expectations.
Team Leadership and Management
Managing a team of Principal Advisors across Brisbane and Montreal, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability.
Providing mentorship and professional development opportunities for direct reports to build expertise in digital transformation.
Ensuring seamless coordination between the Principal Advisors to maintain alignment and integration across regions.
Influence & Stakeholder Engagement:
Partner with regional leadership and delivery teams to foster alignment and commitment to digital transformation goals.
Build trust and credibility with leadership and delivery teams to inspire adoption of best practices and innovative approaches.
Ensure that digital investments and initiatives deliver measurable business outcomes and support overarching company objectives.
What you'll bring
To be considered for this role, you will have:
A bachelor's degree in a relevant field (engineering, computer science, technology, or business) or equivalent professional qualification.
15+ years of experience in leadership role, digital transformation programs, ideally within a heavy industrial sector, preferably in metal or manufacturing industries.
In-depth knowledge of Industry 4.0 technologies, including IoT, AI, robotics, and advanced analytics.
Expertise in assessing and influencing technological choices for long-term scalability and alignment with business goals.
Ability to lead by influence, particularly in global, matrixed, organizations where execution teams do not report directly
Strong capex management skills, with experience in overseeing digital projects from concept to execution.
Experience in solving complex operational problems using digital solutions.
A collaborative mindset, with the ability to work across functions and drive cultural change.
Strong communicator capable of navigating complex stakeholder environments to achieve alignment and buy-in.
