Le titulaire de ce poste est charge de gerer, diriger et motiver l'equipe de souscription et d'etablir le plan d'affaires operationnel et l'orientation pour etablir et appliquer les politiques et les procedures. Il dirige une equipe chargee d'assurer le traitement rapide, precis et efficace des activites initiees par le courtier, nouvelles et existantes. Il est responsable de la conformite des processus en matiere de PSPHR, d'attenuer les risques operationnels tout en minimisant les couts et en offrant une experience client optimale. Il est responsable de la contribution, de la mise en oeuvre et du suivi du plan d'affaires annuel et de s'assurer qu'il est conforme sur le plan strategique afin de soutenir la realisation de la vision, de la mission, des objectifs et des valeurs de MCAP.
Le titulaire de ce poste est egalement charge de s'assurer que l'unite fonctionnelle dispose de ressources necessaires pour repondre aux besoins de nos courtiers, et de s'assurer que les employes sont correctement formes et disposent des outils de gestion necessaires pour effectuer le travail. Il est responsable des activites quotidiennes liees a l'experience client, notamment le delai de prise de decision et de documentation des transactions, en interagissant avec les parties prenantes concernees, les fournisseurs tiers et les autres unites fonctionnelles de MCAP.
En tant que membre principal de l'unite fonctionnelle, le responsable principal de la souscription rend compte de facon reguliere des indicateurs cles a l'equipe de direction.
Planification et performance
Piloter et executer le plan d'affaires annuel.
Developper, mettre en oeuvre et suivre les objectifs particuliers de l'unite fonctionnelle sur une base annuelle.
Travailler en etroite collaboration avec le directeur principal/vice-president des operations et proposer des recommandations pour l'amelioration des operations et l'experience client.
Gerer les problemes de pret complexes et escalades.
Synthetiser toute la documentation au dossier et prendre une decision qui assurera la conformite en matiere de PSPHR et des procedures des organismes externes et internes afin de garantir un niveau de risque acceptable.
Capacite a repondre avec diplomatie aux problemes affectant la reputation ou l'image publique de MCAP aupres des courtiers, des assureurs et des concurrents.
Gerer les ressources pour distribuer efficacement les demandes de pret hypothecaire, verifier la documentation entre les membres de l'equipe afin de respecter ou de depasser les normes de service.
S'assurer que l'ensemble du personnel comprend la politique PSPHR et les objectifs de risque afin de garantir la qualite elevee des actifs.
Surveiller toutes les activites pour s'assurer qu'elles sont realisees conformement au processus documente de MCAP.
Communiquer avec le personnel pour resoudre tout probleme lie a la documentation ou aux clotures.
Examiner et prendre des decisions concernant les prets hypothecaires conformement aux politiques et lignes directrices de MCAP et de l'autorite d'approbation des prets.
Maintenir a jour ses connaissances de MCAP et des conditions du marche afin de les transmettre a l'equipe.
Developper et maintenir une excellente connaissance pratique des systemes et processus de souscription, ainsi que des directives de credit et de souscription afin de faciliter l'enquete sur les problemes signales et de fournir un contexte pour les reponses a l'equipe des ventes et aux courtiers.
Superviser la mise en oeuvre des lignes directrices des politiques des assureurs hypothecaires et des preteurs/investisseurs sur les solutions de reglement des prets en defaut.
Se tenir au courant des tendances de l'industrie et recommander des changements aux politiques et aux procedures, au besoin.
Capacite a prendre des decisions fondees sur les resultats et conformement aux priorites strategiques.
Gestion des relations
Agir a titre d'ambassadeur de l'AFS a la souscription de MCAP pour assurer la mise en oeuvre et l'execution des initiatives des preteurs, investisseurs et assureurs, et ainsi preserver une solide reputation.
Repondre aux besoins des preteurs, investisseurs et assureurs et formuler des recommandations proactives en matiere d'ameliorations et d'occasions.
Collaborer avec les preteurs, investisseurs et assureurs de MCAP pour resoudre les problemes escalades et faciliter les demandes d'audit liees aux problemes de financement.
Etre capable de diriger et gerer des projets.
Au sein de la region, promouvoir la croissance des prets hypothecaires residentiels rentables en :
+ Favorisant les relations avec les courtiers;
+ Repondant aux questions des courtiers ou aux preoccupations de toutes les parties prenantes dans l'intention d'etablir ou de maintenir rapidement des relations;
+ Entretenant de bonnes relations de travail avec les assureurs et les responsables du developpement commercial.
+ Sensibiliser aux possibilites et aux lacunes en matiere de credit/risque MCAP concernant les produits et les programmes de MCAP.
+ Developper et maintenir une connaissance approfondie des produits, politiques et procedures hypothecaires afin de faciliter la promotion de nos offres aupres des courtiers hypothecaires et de leurs clients.
+ Representer MCAP lors de reunions et d'evenements de l'industrie.
Diriger et gerer le personnel
Defendre la vision, la mission et les valeurs de l'entreprise, telles qu'elles sont enoncees dans le plan strategique, tant a l'interne qu'a l'externe au sein de l'industrie.
Recruter et former les personnes competentes qui adherent aux valeurs et a la culture de MCAP et les refletent par leur comportement.
Assurer le leadership, l'orientation et l'encadrement des collaborateurs directs afin de faciliter l'atteinte des buts et objectifs.
Etablir, surveiller et communiquer des normes de rendement aux subordonnes directs afin de renforcer les resultats individuels, la qualite du travail, l'amelioration continue, le travail d'equipe et la realisation des objectifs de MCAP.
Former, encadrer et conseiller le personnel pour s'assurer qu'il est habilite a gerer efficacement ses roles de maniere confiante et professionnelle.
Determiner les forces du personnel pour fournir un cheminement de carriere approprie.
Etablir des objectifs et fournir des conseils pour encourager le developpement des employes.
Trouver les ecarts de rendement et developper un plan d'amelioration.
Former le personnel conformement a la planification de la releve et aux exigences operationnelles courantes.
Mettre en place et maintenir un systeme de communication efficace dans l'ensemble de l'unite fonctionnelle.
Veiller a instaurer et promouvoir une culture d'amelioration continue.
Traiter rapidement les problemes disciplinaires graves, comme l'absenteisme et les problemes de rendement, et participer a l'embauche de nouveaux employes et les recommander.

The Role
This position is responsible for directing, leading and motivating the Underwriting Team and setting the operational business plan/direction to establish and enforce policies and procedures. This role leads a team to ensure timely, accurate and efficient processing of the new and existing generated broker originated business. Responsible for ensuring the processes effectively comply with RMUP policies; mitigate operational risks while minimizing costs while delivering a best in class customer experience. Responsible for contributing, implementing and monitoring the yearly Business Plan and ensuring that it is in alignment with the strategic plan in order to support the achievement of MCAP's Vision, Mission, Objectives and Values.
The role is also responsible for ensuring the business unit is sufficiently resourced to meet the needs of our Brokers, and to ensure employees are adequately trained and have the management tools required to perform the job. Accountable and responsible for the day-to-day activities related to customer experience of turnaround time of deal decision and documentation by interfacing with the relevant stakeholders, third party suppliers and other MCAP operational units.
As a senior member of the business unit, the Sr. Manager, Underwriting, reports key metrics to the senior management team on a regular basis.
Planning and Performance
Drive and execution of the yearly Business Plan
Develop/implement/monitor specific business unit objectives on an annual basis
Work closely and recommend to Sr. Director/VP Operations to improve operational enhancements to improve customer experience
Manage escalated and complex loan issues
Synthesize all documentation on the file and make a decision that will ensure compliance to RMUP and procedures of both external and internal bodies to ensure risk levels are within tolerance
Able to respond to issues affecting MCAP's reputation or public image in a diplomatic manner with brokers, insurers and competitors
Managing resources to efficiently distribute mortgage applications, documentation verification between team members to meet or exceed service standards
Ensure all staff understand RMUP Policy and Risk Objectives in order to ensure high asset quality
Monitor all activities to ensure they are performed within MCAP's documented process
Communicate with staff to resolve any escalated issues around documentation or closings
Review and decision mortgages according to Loan Authority Approval and MCAP policies/guidelines
Maintain up to date knowledge of MCAP and market condition in order to transfer knowledge to team
Develop and maintain strong working knowledge of Underwriting systems and processes and credit/UW guidelines to facilitate investigation of escalated issues and provide context for answers to the Sales team and brokers.
Oversee the implementation of Mortgage Insurer and Lender/Investor policy guidelines on the defaulted loans workout solutions
Stay current with industry trends and recommend changes to policy/procedures as required
Ability to make decisions based on results in keeping with strategic priorities
Relationship Management
Acts as Ambassador of MCAP SFO Underwriting to ensure implementation and execution of Lender/Investor/Insurer initiatives in order to maintain a strong reputation
Responds to the needs of Lender/Investor/Insurer and provide proactive recommendations for improvements/opportunities
Work with MCAP Lender/Investor/Insurer to resolve any escalated issues and facilitate audit requests as they relate to funding issues
Able to Lead/manage projects
Within region, promote the growth of profitable residential mortgages by:
+ Fostering broker relationships
+ Responding to broker questions or concerns from all stakeholders with the intent to build/maintain relationships in a timely manner
+ Maintain good working relationship with insurer and BDM's
+ Creating awareness of opportunities and gaps with MCAP Credit/Risk on products and programs
+ Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of mortgage products, policies and procedures, to facilitate promotion of our offerings with mortgage brokers and their customers
