Reporting to the Director of Fundraising and working closely with the Co-CEO, this relationship-focused role is an integral part of the fundraising team. The primary responsibilities of the Fundraising Officer include cultivating and stewarding individual and corporate donors, developing planned giving opportunities, and building meaningful connections--particularly in the Vancouver region. This role also supports donor engagement through events, communications, and personalized stewardship strategies.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Fundraising & Donor Engagement
Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate and individual donors, particularly in the Vancouver region, through face-to-face meetings, events, and personalized outreach.
Lead and implement strategies for impact giving, including cultivating a personal portfolio of donors and prospects.
Support the Annual Campaign, major gift solicitations, and donor stewardship efforts.
Collaborate with the Fundraising team to develop compelling proposals and donor materials aligned with organizational priorities.
Support the development of a Planned Giving program, including marketing, donor education, and stewardship.
Donor Experience & Stewardship
Ensure timely and meaningful donor recognition, including thank-you letters, public acknowledgments, and stewardship reports.
Maintain accurate donor records and interactions in the CRM (Salesforce).
Uphold Power To Be's brand standards and ethical fundraising practices.
Events & Community Engagement
Lead fundraising components of signature events and donor engagement activities.
Represent Power To Be at community events and networking opportunities, particularly in the Vancouver area.
Collaborate with program staff to align fundraising efforts with participant impact stories and outcomes.
Operations & Administration
Contribute to the development and monitoring of the annual fundraising plan and budget.
Track and report on fundraising metrics, donor engagement, and campaign progress.
Stay informed on fundraising trends, CRA guidelines, and sector best practices.
Strong experience in all Microsoft 365 applications, including but not limited to SharePoint, Teams, Excell, Outlook, and Planners.
Experience with CRM software, Salesforce, Xero, and CanadaHelps.
Perform other related duties, as required.
WORKING CONDITIONS
This role is hybrid with regular travel and in-person meetings in the Vancouver area, which may require occasional evening, weekend, overnight, and multi-day commitments, as well as outdoor work in varying weather conditions.

QUALIFICATIONS
Required
3-5 years of experience in fundraising, sales, or marketing with a focus on direct donor engagement.
Strong communication skills (written and verbal) and the ability to connect with diverse audiences.
Experience with individual giving, donor stewardship, and/or planned giving.
Proficiency with CRM systems (preferably Salesforce) and Microsoft Office 365.
Post-secondary education in a related field.
Access to reliable transportation and ability to travel within the Vancouver and Victoria regions.
Criminal record check with vulnerable sector clearance.
Class 5 Driver's License
Assets
Experience with major gifts and planned giving.
Fundraising certification or professional development (e.g., CFRE).
Knowledge of outdoor pursuits or experience working with individuals facing barriers.

$70,000 - 80,000 Annually
(Based on qualifications, we anticipate a starting salary within the middle of the range)
