We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and cooking, with a particular emphasis on sushi and Japanese cuisine. As a Sushi Chef, you will be responsible for creating high-quality sushi dishes that meet our restaurant's standards while ensuring food safety and exceptional presentation.
Duties
Prepare and create a variety of sushi rolls, sashimi, and other Japanese dishes with precision and attention to detail.
Ensure all ingredients are fresh, properly stored, and handled according to food safety guidelines.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including workstations and equipment.
Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service during peak hours.
Monitor inventory levels of sushi ingredients and communicate needs to management.
Stay updated on current sushi trends and techniques to enhance menu offerings.
Provide excellent customer service by engaging with guests when necessary, ensuring their dining experience is enjoyable.
Experience
Previous experience in a restaurant setting is required, with a focus on sushi preparation preferred.
Strong knowledge of food safety practices and handling procedures.
Familiarity with various cooking techniques and meal preparation processes.
Experience in food service roles that require teamwork and collaboration in a fast-paced environment.
