Our team in Winnipeg MB, is looking for a full-time

Forklift Operator/Material Handler



As a Forklift Operator you will be responsible for the distribution and shipping of products, as well as the movement of company stock between departments. The ideal candidate for this position will be able to perform physically demanding work with a high level of precision, and will possess a strong work ethic.

Responsibilities:



Operate an electric or hydraulic industrial truck or forklift. Load, unload, ship and receive goods/materials. Pick, prepare, and wrap orders for shipping. Move material to different locations within the yard and warehouse facility. Manage inventory. Prepare forklift inspection reports. Know how to properly use a truck or forklift, to transport product in and out of work areas. Know how to properly use the warehouse equipment. Understand how to safely handle and store a variety of items. Work closely with all shop personnel to remove full and empty bins, cages and skids. Be able to operate around other machinery and equipment in a safe and secure manner.

Requirements:



Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in operating a forklift. A valid Class 5 Driver's License is required. A valid Forklift Operator Certificate is preferred. Experience operating a variety of forklifts is an asset. A solid knowledge and understanding of basic mathematics and proficient use of a tape measure are critical requirements, as this position requires accuracy. Experience with hand, power and air tools is an asset. Ability to read and understand instructions and shipping/receiving documents. Ability to clearly communicate with and be helpful with everyone on the team. Able to work outdoors (year-round). Punctual, reliable, focused, motivated and dependable. Ability to work in a fast paced, physically demanding environment, requiring constant waling, ascending/descending stairs, or pallet jack platform, bending, reaching, lifting and carrying. Must be able to read, write and communicate in English. Must be able to work independently or within a team environment. Must adhere to all safety regulations and procedures.
